TO ALL WHO IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, A. P. ANTHONY, of' Morrison, inthe county of Whitesides, andState ofy Illinois, have invented a new and useful improvement in Clothes-Dryers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full,
clear, and exact description of the same. reference being had `to the annexed drawings, nin-king part of this speication, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view.
Figure 2 is an elevation.
The same letters are employed in both igures in the indication of the same parts.
My invention consists in the application of an adjustable framework to the pipe'ot` a stove, upon which clothes, ttc., may be hung to be dried by the heat of the pipe.
A is a stove pipo; B awire or rod, the ends of which are bent to encircle the pipe. 4The parts are brought together, or nearly so, and carried upward along the pipe, being bent into divergent loops, B1, and again Carried upward a little distance, und then bent respectively so as nearly to encircle the pipe, when they are curved outwardly so as to formthe ring B2, surrounding the pipe, on which it is intended that the articles to be dried shall be suspendedfexposed to the heat of the stove and pipe. A ring, C, is passed through the loops Bl. It has a diameter suiicicnt, when itis at the upper end of'the loops, as shown, where they approach most nearly to one another, to allow the separation of the vparts sufficiently to allow the dryer to-be put upon the pipe. When the ring is turned downward, its inner surface pressing upon the outside of loops which are divergent', forces together the ends and vclamps the dryer upon the pipe. When the .ring is `turned entirely down'it is caught by the swell of the loops and held -n place.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The wire D, forming a. ring, B2, and loops B1, in combination with the ring C, by means of which it may be clamped upon a stove pipe, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
