IMPRVED SASH-TIGHTENER.

Be it known that I, JACOB D. WINSLOW, of the city of Wilmington, in the State'of Delaware, have invented a new and useful Sash-Tightener; and I do hereby declare that the follow tion of the constrction and operation of the same, of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a front view of a Window with the sash-tightener attached.

I construct my sash-fastener of iron, 0r any 'other suitable or impinges against a pin or stop, as shown at ain the drawings. position Shown by setting the pin or stop on the sash and the Wedgeshapedtightener upon the beading. I am careful to construct the angle of 'the wedge so as not to impinge too heavily upon the stop, and so that the Window-sash maybe raised without difficultyv The tightener being in place when the sash is pushed up or down, as the case may require to close the sashes, the sash is driven close to the parting strip, thereby keeping out the air, and preventing the window Afrom being rattled by the wind or storm.

What Iclaim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is i The attaching to window-sashes the wedge-shaped piece a, together with the pin or stop 6, as shown in the drawings, and herein described as a. sash-tightener, to exclude Wind and storms, and prevent the sash from rattling.
