SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 622,688, dated April 1 1, 1899.
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, J AKOB HORN, merchant, a subject of the Emperor of Germany, and a resident of Busendorf, Lorraine, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Gloves, of which the following is a full and clear specification.
This invention relates to improvements in gloves; and it is the purpose of the invention to provide gloves from which it is possible to free the fingers without entirely pulling off the gloves.
The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a front view of the glove. Figs. 2 and 3 are side views of the glove, the fingers being free.
The inner palm of the glove can be unbuttoned, as shown in Fig. 1. Therefore to free the fingers it is only necessary to unbutton the innerpalm and to pull off the fingers of the glove. This can be made easy, as the stuff of the glove is very pliable. If the fingers are used only a short time, the glove-fingers may be left hanging down, as shown in Fig. 2. Otherwise the glove-fingers are rolled up and fastened to the back of the hand by means of a little button 0, being provided there for this purpose, as shown in Fig. 3.
It will be seen that the whole palm portion Application filed March 1, 1898. Serial No. 672,181. (No model.)
a is adapted to be opened, and the flap I),- which constitutes this palm portion, forms an unbroken continuation of the fingers. The flap connects with the wrist portion of the glove, and when thrown back the opening for the passage of the hand is formed from the wrist to the fingers.
Having now particularly described the nature of my said invention and in what manner the same is to be performed, I declare that what I claim is 1. A glove having a flap extending over the palm portion and being detachable at or near the wrist portion and adapted to be thrown back toward the fingers to be removed entirelyfrom the palm of the hand, substantially as described.
2. A glove having a flap forming a continuation of the fingers and extending across the palm of the hand and detaehably connected at or near the wrist portion with means on the back of the glove for holding the flap and fingers when the said parts are rolled back,
substantially as described.
Signed at Kehl, Baden, Germany, this 10th day of February, 1898.
