Be it known that I, JOHN NIoHoLoUs REIN- HARD,-a citizen of the United States, residing.

at St. Louis, in the State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Adj ustablev Shade-Supports; `and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to vWhich it appertains to make and use the saine, ref erence being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the iigures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

This invention relates to that class of vdevices in Whicha shade is supported for adjustment in-its entirety relative to the top of a Window and adjusted as to the amount'of its exposed length, and has for its object the provision of improved means for supporting the shade and the roller thereof.

This invention consists in the construction, arrangement, and combination of elements hereinafter set forth,pointed out in my claims,

The portions 10 11 of the device are of approximately the same length, and the one telescopes Within the other. End bars 12 13 are mounted on and fixed 'to and transversely of the opposite end portions of the arched portions or sections 10 l1 and are axially apertured, the bar 12 having a circular aperture to receivea pivot 14 of a roller 15 Ofcommon form, the bar 13 having an angular aperture 16 to receive an angular pivot 17 of a roller of common form. A strap 18is mounted on `the periphery of the member 10 of the device and has its end portions folded around the margins of the said member 10, thereby -slidingly mounting the strap l8von the device.

An eye or staple 19 is fixed to and projects radially from the central portion of the strap 18, to Which eye one end of a cord 2O is attached. The bight Iof, the cord 20 is rove through a pulley 21, fixedl to a Window-frame, and the opposite end of said cord is removably and replaceably attached to a stud 22 on the lower portion of the Window-frame. A curtain 23 is attached in a common manner to the roller 15 and depends from the arched portions of the supporting device, and its lower end may be manually positioned relative to the roller in a common manner.
