To vall whom ffm/ay copcnf v Be it known that we, HAMILTON HILDRETH WEBBERand `SAMUEL JACKSON BINGNER, residing at Mansfield, inthe county of Rich- 4 land and State of Ohio, haveinvented anew and'mproved Sales Book or Pad, of which the` following is a specification.

' This invention is an improved'sales book or ber of clerks are employed anda cash-carrier system in use. In such cases every purchaser receives a pricefslip with the goods, andV a duplicate slip is'forwarded by the clerk to.

.the cashier. i I5 -Y Now the objectof our invention is to provide a sales book or pad for the use of the clerk, and it is also -the object of our invention to provide a book for this purpose which shall becheaper and easier to manufacture zo than those now in use, and one which-is sim p1er,neater, and more convenient in use.

Another object is to provide a book or pad in which the carbon and protecting sheets can be arranged'quicker than said parts in the booksnowin use, as it is a noticeable fact that the average clerk takes as long to arrange the various slips as it takes to make the sale. v

Another object of our invention is to guard 3o against mistakes by'the salesman, vas it frequently happens that the wrong slip is given to the purchaser, and this objection our invention entirely avoids b'y the means of difl material, said space-block being of a height ferent-colored slips for purchaser and cashier. 3 5 Another object of our invention is to prov vide a book or pad in compact or block form in cont-radistinction to the long foldedsheets now in common use. "Another object of our invention is to provide means for holdingthe carbon 'and protecting sheets-independent of the paper slips, and also lholding \them properly` spaced with referencejto the bookl or pad.
