ANDIEW lillllll. HIOIUU'IQWQSIIINMDIDC PATENT tries.-
ROBERT A. SLACK, OF COMANGHE, TEXAS.
CLOTH BUCKET OR VESSEL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 552,973, dated January 14, 1896.
Application filed June 13, 1895. Serial No. 652,669- (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ROBERT- A. SLACK, a citizen of the United States, residing at O0- manche, in the county of Comanche and State of Texas, have invented a new and useful Cloth Bucket, of which the following is a specification.
In warm climates where ice is not plentiful it is customary to place vessels containing milk or water in the shade to cool, the shady side of a tree or gallery where the air circulates freely being selected. for the purpose.
The objects of my invention are to assist aeration and evaporation by forming the sides of the bucket of cloth so closely woven as to allow percolation, but not suflicient to drip. I attain these objects by the mechanism illustrated in i the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a viewin perspective. a vertical section on line of handle. Fig.
Fig. 2 is 3 18 a vertical section on right angle of handle. Fig. at is a sectional view of bucket from below the rim.
Similar letters refer to similarparts thro ughout the several views.
The rim d, ribs a, bottom f, with wire bail h and hoop e, constitute the frame of bucket,
cloth sides 0 having seams s forming the web, and handle I), with ears t.
The two pieces of cloth 0 c are seamed in four places at s, s, s, ands, as shown in Fig. 4. Then the metal ribs -n are placed on each side of the joints in the cloth or web and held in place with rivets, thus forming the sides of bucket, as shown in all figures on drawings.
The rim d is formed from a folded metal strip infolding cloth sides or web (3, having ribs 02, and held in place with rivets, as shown in Figs. 1, 2, and 3. The wooden or metal bottom f has a groove into which the cloth sides or web 0, having ribs n, are pressed and held in place by wire bail h, over which is placed the hoop e, as shownin Figs. 1, 2, and 3.
The handle I? is hooked into ears 2. t, which are riveted to rim cl, as shown in Figs. 1,2,and 3.
\Vhat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The combination in cloth buckets and vessels of a bucket and vessel having rim (Z, bottom f, wire bail h, hoop e and web 0 with ribs 71-, as shown and for the purpose specified.
R. A' SLACK.
