LIFTING-FORK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 551,433, dated December 17, 1895.
Application filed August 10, 1895. Serial No. 558,831 (No model) To all whom it may concern: I
Be it known that I, EZRA A. OOZENS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Toledo, Lucas county, Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Lifting- Forks, of which the following is a specificzv' verted, be utilized as a meat-hook for removing meats, fish, and the like from their receptacles without soiling the hands of the user with the brine and liquor in which such articles are usually contained. I attain these objects by means of the device hereinafter described, and shown and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, made part hereof, showing myfork, with a ham suspended therefrom, in position to be suspended to an overhead hook.
In the drawing, a is the handle, and b is a stout two-pronged fork secured thereto. One of these prongs has a short supplemental prong c, projecting outwardly, and the other prong has a short supplemental prong d,

Having described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent,
A lifting fork, comprising the handle, a twopronged fork secured thereto, a branch projecting forwardly from one of said prongs, and a rearwardly curved branch projecting from the other of said prongs, said prongs and said branches lying substantially in the same plane, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
