.To all whom t may concern:
Beit known that I, ELI S. BITNER, of Lock Haven, Clinton county, State of Pennsylvania, have invented an Improved Vindow -Sash Lock, and I do hereby declare the following to be an exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters ot' reference marked thereon, making` a part ot this specification.
Figure l represents a window with the lock attached, the red lines showing` the movement ot' the spring' and bolt as operated by the lever. Fig. 2 represents the spring and lever, and Fig. 3 the face-plate in which the bolt operates and by which the bolt is strengthcned.
The nature ot my invention consists in the arrangementainl construction of a strong` bolt, A, which passes about one-fourth ot an inch into the sash, and is made firm and strong` by passing through a square aperture in the metal face-plate B, that is fastened to the windowframe. The bolt is attached to the lower end 0f a stiff spring, C. The spring is moved by a lever, D, that is placed in a convenient position in the window-frame. This leverD has a neat dated May 22, 1866.

The lever D, with flange C and knob E, coni strueted and connected with plate B, as shown, in combination with the spring` G, havingfthe spur A at its end, all arranged and operating,- as herein shown and described.
