H.KRUOKEE. ROGKET HOLDER.`
No.v 534,651.
UNITED STATES PATENr' GFFICE.
A IIENRY KRUCKER, 0F CINCINNATI, OIIIO.
ROCKET-'HOLDER SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent N o. 534,651, dated February 26, 1895.
Application led November 12,1894 `Serial No. 528,546. (No modeLl To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY KRUCKER,aciti zen of the United States of America, residing at Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Rocket-Holders, of which the following is a specification.
My invention is `more especially designed for use with sky rockets of that class having winged sticks.
.The discharge of such rockets by amateurs has been attended with considerable danger and inconvenience for Want of an inexpensive and available holder to support the rocket and guide it as it starts on its course.
The object of my invention is to provide such a holder, and obviate this vdanger and inconvenience, and my invention consists in n the rocket holder hereinafter described 4and claimed.
In the drawings Figure 1, is a perspective view showing the holder with a rocket in position for discharge, and Fig. 2, avertical scction of the holder.`
A represents the holder consisting of a stem of wood or other suitable material, preferably sharpened at itsilower end so that it may be readily stuck into the ground and thereby fixed' in position for use. This stem is provided with a longitudinal channel or socket,
B, extendingr from the top of the stem to a point near the sharpened end, and of a size and shape adapted to receive the stick, D, of a rocket. C, is a slot orcnt extending through the walls of socket, B, and adapted to permit the passage of the wings, d, of the rocket. Y
The stem is fixed in the ground or otherwise made fast in desired position. The stick of the rocket is then placed in channel, B, the wings sliding in the slot, C. The fuse is then lighted and the rocket discharged, being guided by the channel and slot until the stick is freed from the holder.
A holder of this kind may be used in any situation and obviates all danger to the user.
'lhe cost of the holder is merely nominal and one or more holders may be supplied to the consumer with each lot of rockets.
. As a new article of manufacture, the rocket' holder hereindescribed, consisting of a stem A pointed at its lower end, and provided with a longitudinal socket B, and with a narrow slot Cin the side walls of the socket, all substantially as shown.
