To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, Gnonqn A. LAMBERT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Union City, in the county of Darke and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and. useful Improvements' in Portable Caps for Bolts or Screws; and I- do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
My invention relatesto improvements in caps for bolts 0r screws, and the object of my invention is the provision of a simple and inexpensive cap which will afford a greater holding or securing surface than is provided by the ordinary head of the bolt.
The invention consists of a portable cap of novel and practical construction as will appear from the following description.

My improved cap A, is provided with the opening B, having the tapering or countersunk walls 0, to receive the conical head of the bolt or screw 0 and also has the tapered and curved securing or holding wings D, and the central portion is broadened to form the holding extensions D','as shown. The bolt 0' has its headE of conical shape and pro- 35 vided with the curved feather F, for engaging the curved groove G of the cap to lock the head in the cap.
It will thus be seen that I provide a simple,
cheap and practical cap which is of attractive 4o appearance.
I claim 1. A cap for bolts having thecentral opening provided with a curved groove, and abolt having a curved feather adapted to form a 45 locking engagement with the groove by turn-- ing the bolt.
2. A cap for bolts orscrews having the holding portions and the countersunk opening having the curved groove and the bolt 50 having the head provided with the spiral feather for engaging the groove when the bolt is turned to lock the bolt to the cap.
