Be it known that we, FRANK K. RoBER'rs and GEORGE M. BURROUGHS, citizens of the United States, residing at Santa Cruz, in the county of Santa Cruz and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fenders for Metallic Tubs or Boilers; and we do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of said inventon, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which itmost nearly appertains to make, use,

We take a block of wood or rubber, a', or other suitable material, and secure it to a piece of metal, previously treated to form a pocket-like device. Said piece about midway its length, has formed therewith angular or bent, lateral portions or extensions a, caused to lap each other atl their free ends and rest upon said block, and the lower portion b, of the piece is bent upward and against the vblock, with its free end resting upon the lapped end-portions of said lateral portions or extensions a.
