A designates a suitable base piece, to which is rigidly attached a vertical supporting rod or standard, a. The hase is intended to be fastened on a counter or table near the weighing scales. Y
B designates a jointed arm, the joint of which is in the form of a knuckle-joint, having shoulders which meet, so that when the members of the arm are extended the outer one will be supported on a line with the other. To the outer end of this arm is attached a funnel C, while the inner end is enlarged and provided with an aperture c to receive the rod or standard a to which the arm is connected, and to one side of the aperture is an enlarged portion provided with a recess, d, pierced at right angles to the apertures c, and within this recess is located a spiral spring f, which bears against a headed pin g, the outer end of said pin engaging with the rod or standard.
'and when it is desired to placeabag over the end of the funnel the outer member of the arm may be swung up as shown in dotted lines Fig. l, after which the arm is brought to a horizontal position, which will locate the bag in the scale-pan; when this is done the bag may be readily filled and the outer member of the arm swung up to leave the bag to be tied.
We claim- A funnel support or bag holder, comprising a base having attached thereto arcylindrical standard, an arm provided adjacent to one end with an aperture through which the standard passes, and an upwardly projecting portion recessed at right angles with said aperture, a spring projected pin carried by said recess so as to bear upon the standard and hold the arm against vertical movement by frictional contact of the parts, the outer end 0f the arm carrying a funnel and being provided with a rule or knuckle-joint between the funnel and point of attachment with the standard, substantially as shown, and for the purpose set forth.
