FENCE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 503,631, dated August 22, 1893. Application filed October 16, 1891. Serial No. 408901. (No model.)
The invention consists in the construction and novel combination and arrangement of parts, hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and pointed out in the claim hereto appended.

The wires 11 are secured to the upper ends of the vertical bars which project above the horizontal bars 7, and the wires 10 are secured to the faces of the vertical bars, and are arranged either on the outer or inner faces of the panels; each panel is anchored at one end by astake or post 16, and the panels may be arranged in a straight line or to form a worm fence so as to be able to Withstand severe lateral strain caused by heavy winds and the like.
From the foregoing description and the accompanying drawings the construction, operation and advantages of the invention will be readily understood.
What I claim is- In a fence, the combination of separate in-' dependent fence panels having vertical bars at their ends and provided at the opposed faces of said bars between the ends and the same with vertically arranged staples located within'the side faces of the vertical bars in the spaces between the panels, and the horizontally disposed split links engaging said staples and detachably and flexibly connecting the panels, substantially as described.
