HAM E-CLIP.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 484,053, dated October 11 1892.
Application filed February 12, 1892. Serial No. 421,321- (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, JAMES SCOTT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bethany, in the county of San Joaquin and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Hames for Harness; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
The invention relates to the hames or that part of the harness which is fitted on the collar of a horse.
The invention consists in making a lineclip, as hereinafter described, and pointed out in the claim.
Figure 1 of the drawings is a side elevation showing on hame the line-clip now in use; Fig. 2, a similar View showing the line-clip which constitutes my invention; Fig. 3, a perspective detail view of my invention; Fig. 4:, a horizontal section of Fig. 2 on the dotted line 00 cc.
In the drawings, A represents the line-clip, having a ring a through which the rein passes, the body a being open at the outer end and provided with perforated ears a a in one of which is a thread around the wall of hole in which screws the thumb-bolt B. The space inclosed by the bolt, ears, and body is to receive the top hame-strap C. The bolt B performs two functions'namely, takes the strain off the hame-strap and holds the clip at any adjustment on the hames, so as to make the JAMES scorr.
