SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 472,470, dated April 5, 1892.
Application filed November 28, 1891. Serial No. 413,409. (No model.)
"To all whom it may concern.-
The desire of the beholders of albums to:
have the same before them in a similar manner as the painting stands on the easel before the painter has already caused the makers of albums to provide the back cover with a plateshaped support and to have the back of the album below, so that the front cover and the leaves after turning lie flat on the table.
The present improvement, represented in total view in the annexed drawing, has the advantage not hitherto attained that after the turning of the leaves the photographs of the rear side 4" not only lie in the same inclined position as those of the front side,but also precisely in the same distance from the eye of the beholder. This purpose is accomplished by a simultaneous arrangement of supports .9 at the front cover 12, as well as at the rear cover h, which supports are hinge fashion and connected with their appurtenant cover, so that when the book is closed they are turned into recesses of the covers. Neither the sole arrangement of a support at the rear cover nor the sole arrangement of a support at the front cover is claimed; but
