SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 464,034, dated December 1, 1891.
Application filed July 6, 1891. SerialNo. 398,507. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, JOHN MCISAAO, of Malden,-in the county of Middlesex, State of Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Linemens Vises, of which the following is a description sufficientlyfull, clear, and exact to enable any person skilled in the art or science to which said invention appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a plan view of my improved linemans vise, the tension-strap being broken off. Fig. 2 is an end elevation of the same; Fig. 3, a vertical longitudinal section, and Fig. 4 an inside plan view, of the lower jaw.
Like letters and figures of reference indicate corresponding parts in the different figures of the drawings.
My invention relates, especially, to Vises which are particularly adapted for use in stretching and repairing electrical conducting-wires; and it consistsin certain novel features hereinafter fully set forth and claimed,

and more effective device of this character than is now in ordinary use.
The nature and operation of the improvement will be readily understood by all conversant with such matters from the following explanation.
In the drawings, A represents the body of the Vise, which consists of a metallic frame having a central longitudinally-arranged opening I) and a head B at one end, which forms one jaw of the vise.

A nuto is turned onto the threaded portion of said bolt. Said nut is provided with elongated ears to to receive a lever whereby it may be set up tightly on the bolt.
