SUSPENSION-HOOK.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 409,239, dated August 20, 1889.

Application filed March 22, 1889. Serial No. 304,300. (No model.)

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, LOUIS F. ROLLER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Rutledge, in the county of Delaware and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Suspension-Hook s, which improvement is fully set forth in the following specification and accompanying drawin gs.

My invention relates to adjustable straps having movable hooks secured thereto; and it consists of the combination and arrangein cut of parts, as herein set forth and claimed.

Figure 1 represents a perspective view of a suspension-hook embodying my invention. Fig. 2 represents a perspective view on an enlarged scale. Fig. 3 represents a partial side elevation and a partial vertical section of a hook on an enlarged scale.

Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the several figures.

Referring to the drawings, A designates a strap of leather or other suitable material, and B designates a hook, which is connected with the strap at a right angle to the length of the same, so as to support a hat, coat, &c., thereon when the strap is fastened to a tree, post, or other support, as will be seen in Fig. 1, said strap having at one end a buckle C, so that'it is firmly secured in position.

In order to adjust the hook around the tree or support, the upper end of the same is formed with loop D, through which the strap passes, whereby the hook may he moved toward either end of the strap without losing its support thereon, and thus set or adjusted according to requirements.

I11 order to prevent the hook from turning 011 the strap, its back is formed with a plate F, which widens said back and presents a broad surface in contact with the strap.

The device will be found useful for camping, picnic, and other purposes, and when not required it may be unbuckled from the tree, &c, and formed in a compact bundle, as is evident.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

A strap having a buckle, in combination with a hook having a loop in its upper end through which the strap passes, and a plate secured to the back of the loop end of the hook and adapted to be in contact with the said strap, substantially as described.
