- the transition surface 82 is formed with a reversed S- curve surface, in section, so that when the liquid gel is introduced into container 14 it occupies thezone 92 (see FIG with the lowermost level 88 of the transition surface 82 forming an annular trough about the periphery of the solidified body. This trough will receive liquid from the surface of the solidified gel body when the container is in use, and prevent its dripping onto the supporting surface for the container. The liquid received in the trough 88 will vaporize relatively rapidly, so that the trough is continuously available for receiving other liquid which may form on the surface of the gel body.
