1 Claim, l Drawing Figure ATHLETIC SUPPORTER WITH SOCK SUPPORTS This invention relates to an athletic supporter combined with suspension means for hockey socks.
The invention utilizes the presence of an athletic supporter, a necessary garment for any hockey player to provide means for suspending hockey socks. Thus, in accord with the invention the fasteners for suspending hockey socks, adjacent their upper edge, are attached to and supported from the athletic supporter.
Advantages of the invention include the fact that two garments have been replaced by one, reducing the bulk and complexity of the garment worn by the hockey player. The garment is easy to put on and supports the hockey sock without twisting.

The athletic support, as is well known, comprises an elastic waist-band.l0, having suspended therefrom a pouch 12 whose lower end is attached by two leg straps 14 to spaced rearward portions of the band, as shown. The pouch will customarily. be designed, with a pocket, (not shown) to carry a metal protective cup.
Fasteners of conventional design for attaching to and supporting the upper edges of hockey socks are provided on each side of the pouch 12. Thus on each side of such a pouch, a tab 20 is sewn to band and to band 10 is, at least one and preferably two elastic garter straps 22 each of which at its lower extremity, is sewn about a metal loop 24. A fastener strap 26 is also sewn in a loop to join loop 24 to the bight portion 28 of the fastener. The lower end of strap 26 mounts the tab portion 30 of the fasteners.
in operation, the supporter is put on by the hockey player in a conventional manner. The fasteners are then attached to the upper end of the users hockey socks.
I claim:
1. A hockey garment comprising:
an athletic supporter,
said athletic supporter including:
an elastic waist band,
a pouch suspended from the front portion of said waist band,
said pouch being provided with a pocket designed to carry a protective cup,
two leg straps, each attached at one end to said pouch and at the other end to the rearward portion of said waistband,
a pair of sock support straps attached to the front of said waist band on each side of and adjacent to said pouch,
whereby each said pair of sock support straps will depend from said waist band at the front of the wearers body when the garment is worn,
and means on each of said straps, spaced from said band, to allow attachment to hockey socks, whereby each pair of straps may be attached to the hockey sock on the corresponding side of the wearers body on the inside and on the outside of the wearers leg.

Claims (1)

1. A hockey garment comprising: AN ATHLETIC SUPPORTER, SAID ATHLETIC SUPPORTER INCLUDING: AN ELASTIC WAIST BAND, A POUCH SUSPENDED FROM THE FRONT PORTION OF SAID WAIST BAND, SAID POUCH BEING PROVIDED WITH A POCKET DESIGNED TO CARRY A PROTECTIVE CUP, TWO LEG STRAPS, EACH ATTACHED AT ONE END TO SAID POUCH AND AT THE OTHER END TO THE REARWARD PORTION OF SAID WAISTBAND, A PAIR OF SOCK SUPPORT STRAPS ATTACHED TO THE FRONT OF SAID WAIST BAND ON EACH SIDE OF AND ADJACENT TO SAID POUCH, WHEREBY EACH SAID PAIR OF SOCK SUPPORT STRAPS WILL DEPEND FROM SAID WAIST BAND AT THE FRONT OF THE WEARER''S BODY WHEN THE GARMENT IS WORN, AND MEANS ON EACH OF SAID STRAPS, SPACED FROM SAID BAND, TO ALLOW ATTACHMENT TO HOCKEY SOCKS, WHEREBY EACH PAIR OF STRAPS MAY BE ATTACHED TO THE HOCKEY SOCK ON THE CORRESPONDING SIDE OF THE WEARER''S BODY ON THE INSIDE AND ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE WEARERS LEG.
