  • the plate 12 is then engaged over the bolt 14 and the wing nut 18 is tightened thereon to clamp the plate 11 and plate 12 tightly to the skis 19 so as to rigidly secure the handle 16 to the skis 19.
  • the resilient material 13 with which the plates 11 and 12 are coated prevents scratching of the skis and produces a better grip than would bare metal.
  • the coating 13 may be painted, sprayed or attached to the plates 11, 12 by any conventional means.
  • a hand ski carrier comprising a pair of clamping plates adapted to engage the opposite side edges of a pair of skis positioned with their flat surfaces parallel, a bolt extending through each of said plates and between said skis, a U-shaped handle having said bolt extending through one end thereof with the head of said bolt engaging said one end of said handle, and a clamping wing nut threaded on said bolt and engaging one of said plates for moving said one of said plates toward the other of said plates in a ski clamping direction.
