SUSPENDER-LOOP CLAMP.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 370,033, dated September 20, 1887.
Application filed January 81, 1887.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE FRENCH AT- WooD, a citizen of the United States, and a resident ofSwanton, in the county of Franklin and State of Vermont, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Suspender-Loop Clamps; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters or figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Figure l of the drawings is a representation of this invention, and is a front view. Fig. 2 shows the blank from which the clasp is formed.
Myinvention relates to clasps for suspenderends; and it consists in the combination of parts, as hereinafter described and claimed.
The object of the invention is to form a loop upon the Suspender-end, which loop is designed to be used in lieu of the button-hole usually formed in' suspender-ends. This I do by looping the lower ends of the fabric or material of which the Suspender-ends are formed, and afterward encircling the top of the loop thus formed by atransversely-corrugated sheetmetal clasp provided with integral inwardlyprojeeting teeth on its lower edge, said teeth entering the material of which the suspender- Serial No. 225,971. (No model.)

Referring by letter to the accompanying drawings, A designates the corrugated blank from which the clasp B is formed. The longer sides of the blank are equal in length, while the shorter sides are unequal in length, so that the sheet when rolled to form the clasp will taper from below upward. The larger end of the corrugated blank is provided with two integral teeth, 0 D, which enter the material of which the Suspender-ends are formed and prevent the clasp from slipping, and also prevent the loop E from being pulled out.
Having described this invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, 1s-
The combination, with a looped suspendeu end, of a transverse]y-corrugated encircling clasp, tapered from below upward and provided on its lower larger end with integral inwardly-projecting teeth, substantially as specified.
