Definitions

  • This invention relates generally to sewer systems, and more particularly to a manhole arrangement for sewer systems and the like.
  • Still another object of this invention is to provide a manhole setup or arrangement for sewer systems which permits a realization in a most simple manner of any desired angular position of the connecting points for inlet and/or outlet.
  • the invention is characterized by a manhole setup composed of connecting segments and wall parts with vertical subdivision, the wall parts being subdivided in wall segments of gradual lengths of radians.
  • Connecting segments and wall parts are prefabricated parts which may be manufactured in series. It is possible to comply easily with each requirement regarding angular position of inlet and/or outlet at the building site.
  • connection segments prefferably to form arch pieces made of concrete or the like, in which a socket of stoneware, concrete asbestos-cement cast iron plastics or the like is embedded.
  • the arch piece is provided with radially limited lateral joint faces. It is most convenient to arrange the socket embedded in the arch piece so as to ensure that it is flush with the inner wall of the arch piece and does not project inwardly. Thus, the clearance of the pit or manhole is by no means narrowed down by the connecting segment.
  • Wall segments may be subdivided lengths of radians which are selective and graduated between each other. A most advantageous graduation is realized with lengths covering degrees of angles of and 60. With such a graduation, the lowest number of different self-sufficient lengths is possible. It is also possible to provide for manhole setups having bigger diameters, wall segments the arch pieces of which are of a different length with a graduation of each 10.
  • Wall segments are preferably designed such as to ensure that their outer bow corresponds to the inner bow. This will permit a space-saving possibility of storage, by piling them side by side or one above the other.
  • FIGS. 1 to 4 show different embodiments of design and composition or a manhole setup with inlet and outlet, represented in plan view and schematically;
  • FIG. 5 shows a longitudinal cross section of the manhole setup according to FIG. 3 along line VV;
  • FIG. 6 shows a plan view of a special embodiment of wall parts.
  • a manhole setup 1 which consists of two connecting segments 2 of the same diameter for inlet and outlet, and of wall segments 3 as well as 4, 5, and 6.
  • Connecting segments 2 are made of concrete or the like, having sockets 7 embedded in them, which may consist of stoneware, concrete, asbestos-cement, cast iron, plastics, etc. Concrete bodies 2 are laterally provided in part or completely with radially limited arch pieces 2a.
  • Sockets 7 are located in the concrete body 2 so that they do not project inwardly at the inner periphery of the concrete body, but they are somewhat reset thus avoiding narrowing down clearance of the manhole.
  • Wall segments 3 to 6 are arch segments of gradual length, with the wall segments 3 corresponding to an angle of 60 and the wall segments 4, 5, and 6 to angles of 30, 20 and 10, respectively. Connecting segments and wall segments are closely joined at the vertically extending joints 8.
  • connecting segments 9 provided have a greater diameter and a length corresponding to an angle of Sockets 10 are embedded in the concrete body of the connecting segments 9 so that they do not project inwardly.
  • Connecting segments 9 are provided with contact faces 9a being radially limited, so that connecting segments 9 and the correspondingly designed archedwall segments 3, 4, 5 and 6 seen in plan form form a complete circle. Connecting segments 9 may be arranged in any desired angle corresponding to the graduation of the length of the wall segments.
  • manhole setup 12 As for manhole setup 12 according to FIG. 3, it exhibits two big connecting segments 9 and a smaller connecting segment 2, the spaces being filled up by fitting wall segments 3, 4, 5 and 6.
  • the smaller connecting segment 2 forms an inlet, the same applies to the bigger connecting segment 9, while the other connecting segment 9 is provided as an outlet.
  • Manhole setup 13 according to FIG. 4 is fitted with two smaller connecting segments 2 forming inlets, combined with a bigger connecting segment 9 as the outlet.
  • wall segments 3, 4, 5 and 6 are provided accordingly with corresponding graduation and distribution.
  • FIG. 6 shows wall segments 3 designed such that their outer bow 3a corresponds to the inner bow 3b. By this means wall segments may be piled such as to place them side-by-side.
  • a manhole setup for sewer systems having at least two connecting points for inlet-and/or outlet by means of subsequent pipe connecting adapters, such as clay pipes, with manhole rings being mountable on the manhole setup, said manhole setup consisting of connecting segments and wall parts with vertical subdivision, said wall parts being subdivided in wall segments having arch length with graduated radians.
