SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 364,658, dated June 14, 1887.

Application filed February 26, 1887. Serial-No. 228,997. (No model.)

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, JOHN 0. LEE, of Rochester, Monroe county, New York, haveinvented an Improvement in a Combined Hat and Clothes Hook, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a front elevation of two of my improved hooks mounted on a suitable frame,

Fig. 2, an end elevation, and Fig. 4 a top view, Fig. 3 shows the form of one of my improved hooks stamped from sheet metal before it has been molded into shape.

The object of my invention is to provide, in combination with a hook adapted to hold a hat, a form to sustain a cloak, coat, pantaloons, or other garment.

My improved hook may be constructed of wire or sheet metal. I When made of sheet metal it is stamped out in one piece, as'shown at B, Fig. 3, in which d is the hat-hook and c c the clothessupporter. lhe hat-hook is shaped thus, 8, and is formed into an arc, so as to present a convex surface for the hat to rest upon and corresponding to the shape of the interior of the crown, as shown in Fig. 1. The clothes-supporter c is also formed to present a convex surface to sustain the coat or other garment, as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1.

The shank B, Fig. 3, is provided with holes as and for the purposes set to a frame, A, or directly onto a wall or other surface. When used with a frame, A, the hook is shaped as shown in Fig. 2, for more conveniently securing it to the frame, and so that the hat-hook d and the clothes-supporter 0 project some distance from the surface to which the device may be secured. The ends 'of the clothes'supporter c are provided with pear-shaped openings e 0, adapted to support pantaloons by their buttons, as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1. Two of the buttons on the garment are put through the large parts 6 e of the openings and then slipped down into the slots f f, the garment being thereby held securely in place. My device thus holds coats, cloaks, or pantaloous in such a way as to preventtheir wrinkling orstretching out of shape, as frequently happens when placed 'upon hooks of the ordinary construction.

Having thus described my said invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
