A ll.
. MENU FALSE EYELASH CURLING AND CLEANING DEVICE This invention relates to a device for properly housing false eyelashes in curved and curled position and for cleaning same without damage to the lashes or annoyance to the user.
It is among the objects of this invention to provide a device for both curling and cleaning false eyelashes.
Another object is to provide a device for curving and curling false eyelashes and housing them in proper condition for use at any time, and without damaging the lashes so that they become unglued in use.
Still another object is to provide a device for easy and perfect cleaning, brushing and rinsing false eyelashes without damage thereto, and without the user immersing her fingers and damaging her nail polish.
My invention also contemplates such other objects, advantages and capabilities as will later more fully appear and which are inherently possessed by my invention.
While I have shown in the accompanying drawings preferred embodiments of my invention, yet it is to be understood that the same are susceptible of modification and change without departing from the spirit of my invention.
Referring to the drawings,
FIG. 1 is an elevational view of my false eyelash curling and cleaning device;
FIG. 2 is a plan view of the bottom of FIG. 1;
FIG. 3 is an enlarged sectional view;
FIG. 4 is a top plan view of the body member;
FIG. 5 an elevational view; and
FIG. 6 is a bottom view of the same;
FIG. 7 is an enlarged top view of the body member with the slot;
FIG. 8 is a sectional view on line 8-8 of FIG. 7;
FIG. 9 is a vertical broken view in the cleaning of the lashes; and
FIG. 10 is an elevational view of the eyelash.
The embodiment selected to illustrate my invention comprises a unitary body member 10 preferably molded of plastic, having a cylindrical upper portion or handle 11, flared outwardly at its bottom to form an enlarged integral spool portion or holder 12 ending therebelow in an outwardly and downwardly curved rim 13. Between the bottom of spool 12 and rim 13 is a groove 14.
A pair of spaced false eyelashes are placed with their base thread portions positioned at groove 14 and are held there by cord 16 which rests below groove 14. One end of cord 16 is attached to pin 17 and after extending around groove 14 and on top of eyelashes 15, is looped or hooked over pin 17. In other embodiments it is then drawn upward to second pin 18 or slit 19 where it is secured, to hold the cord in fixed position about the eyelashes 15. A weight 20, such as a bead, at the outer end of cord 16 may be attached to the cord for helping in holding the cord when hooked upon pin 17, and up to upper pin 18 or slit 19.
Since rim 13 and groove 14 are curved to conform to the eye, the eyelashes 15 are held in curved position during storage. Because the curves are correctly shaped, the lashes will not become unglued from the users eyelid in use. Because the rim 13 is curved, the lashes are also curled. The lashes are held in excellent position for storage between wearings and are also held in proper alignment for trimming.
My device also provides means for soaking, brushing, rinsing and cleaning the false eyelashes. In this connection, my upper portion 11 has an opening 21 in its top 22 to receive brush 23, having a handle 24 extending above the top 22 within upper portion 11. A hollow portion 25 houses bristle portion 26 of brush 23, which is prevented from falling through by friction grip against inner walls 27 of hollow portion 25.
Spool l2 and rim 13 are hollow and are sized to fit around cap 28 of bottle 29 containing cleaning fluid. Bottle 29 rests on base cup 30 of larger diameter than the bottom of bottle 29.
A cover 31 is provided to cover body member 10 and its parts, brush 23 and bottle 29 and is removably attached by friction grip to the outer walls of base cup 28.
en it is desired to clean the lashes, cover 31 and bottle 29 are removed. Cup 30 is inverted so that liquid from bottle 29 is poured into cup 30. The user holding body member 10 at upper handle portion 11 places the rim 13 with lashes 15 into the liquid in the cup. Brush 23 is used to brush the lashes.
The lashes are held so that they are soaked and brushed in the solution in the cup without danger to the lashes, loss of lashes, or the immersing of the users fingers in the cleaning solution, which is generally damaging to nail polish. The lashes are next held under the water of a faucet, and then dried.
Having thus described my invention, I claim:
1. A false eyelash curling and cleaning device comprising a unitary body member having an upper handle portion, a middle spool portion and a lower curved rim, said spool adapted to receive a pair of spaced false eyelashes, a pin attached to said spool, a cord having one end attached to said pin and extending around said spool and against the false eyelashes for holding them on the spool in curved position, means on said body member for engaging the cord and holding it, said curved rim adapted to contact and curl the eyelashes, and a cup adapted to hold liquid, said handle adapted to be held by the user for placing the eyelashes held on said spool into the liquid in said cup for cleaning.
2. The false eyelash curling and cleaning device as set forth in claim 1 in which said body member is hollow and shaped to receive the top portion of a bottle of cleaning fluid, and said cup is adapted to receive and hold the bottom of the bottle.
3. The false eyelash curling and cleaning device as set forth in claim 2 in which said handle portion has a receiving portion for removably holding an eyelash brush.
4. The false eyelash curling and cleaning device as set forth in claims 2 or 3, in which a cover is positioned over the body member and extends down to and is attached to said cup by friction grip.
5. The false eyelash curling and cleaning device as set forth in claim 1, in which the means for holding the cord has a second pin attached to the body member.
6. The false eyelash curling and cleaning device as set forth in claim 1, in which the means for holding the cord has a slit formed in a higher portion of said body member.
