With heretofore known two-for-one twisting spindles, the corresponding magnets are arranged, for instance, on the balloon limiting device which, in turn, is connected to the machine frame.
- the invention may also be realized by rotatably journalling' a thread guiding pipe in the hollow shank, which thread guiding pipe extends approximately to the plane of the thread storage disc, while the creel bobbin carrier is connected to the free end of the thread guiding pipe which protrudes from the hollow shank.
- the bobbin creel carrier is supported exclusively by the upper free end of the hollow shank, while the bearing body carrying said carrier is formed by a thread guiding pipe rotatably journalled in the hollow shank.
- creel bobbin carrier and the thread guiding pipe can together be disconnected fromy the hollow shank so that lthe yarn, after separating these parts, can be threaded through the thread guiding pipe.
- the yarn will then extend freely from the lower end of the thread guiding pipe.
- This protruding end will automatically, when inserting the thread guiding pipe, pass into the hollow shank into the plane of the thread storage disc and can readily be pulled out from the latter by means of a threading needle. This pulling out may, of course, also be effected pneumatically.
- the creel bobbin carrier may be detachably mounted on that end of the thread guiding pipe which protrudes from the hollow shank so that at any time the said carrier can, together with the bobbin, as a unit be detached from the hollow shank or from the thread guiding pipe.

- the bobbin receiving basket may consist of a ring adapted to be placed upon the sleeve and provided with at least three downwardly extending resilient U- shaped yokes While the ends of the other legs are interconnected by a thread ring.

- a bobbin receiving basket is obtained which rests solely through the intervention of said ring upon the bobbin carrier designed in the form of a sleeve with a shoulder, and receives the bobbin, while the outer legs are interconnected by a thread ring.
- the outer legs together with the said ring form a protective basket for the thread which moves outside said basket and is passed from a lower portion of the spindle to au upper portion, and the yarn is prevented from engaging the outer edges of the yarn body so that thread breaks will be avoided.
- the inner legs of said U-shaped yokes extend in a downwardly flaring manner and/ or are curved outwardly, so that the bobbin will be seated on the legs with a certain preload.
- the inner legs In view of the inclined location of the inner legs, or due to the curvature thereof, they have to be slightly elastically deformed when the bobbin is placed thereon, thereby also taking care of any slight deviations of the inner diameter of the bobbin sleeve.
- the bobbin receiving basket is formed by a ring 20 around which extend, for instance, four inner legs 27 of a Wire basket. Legs 27 are bent radially outwardly at their lower ends and then extend in a U-shaped form upwardly, so that the legs have a U-shaped contour.
- the U-shaped form of the legs is obtained by the inner leg section 27, the radial leg section 30, and the outer sections 31.
- the ends of outer sections 31 are interconnected by a thread ring 32.
- bobbin receiving baskets 19 adapts itself to the respective inner diameter of sleeve 28 so that sleeves of diiferent diameters may be employed.
- magnets 33 may be arranged on legs 30 and these magnets may cooperate with counter-magnets stationarily arranged on the machine frame.
- FIG. 4 does not show magnets 33 on basket 19 in order not to shroud the U-shape of the yoke of the bobbin receiving basket 19.
- magnets 33 in the arrangement of FIG. 4 in basket 19.
- Such magnets may, if desired, interconnect adjacent yokes in such a way that the basket will be reinforced by the magnets.
- FIG. 2 illustrates in detail those parts which can be detached from hollow shank 8 of the two-for-one spindle illustrated in FIG. l. More specifically, FIG. 2 shows the free length of the thread guiding pipe 15 which latter is provided with a seating surface 37 for bearing 11 and with a seating surface 38 for bearing 18. As has been brought out in connection with FIGS. l and 3, the thread guiding pipe 15 extends into the'carrier 17 to which is connected a bobbin receiving basket 19. Furthermore, FIG. 2 illustrates cap 24 on which the thread guiding member 26 is mounted.
- yarn body 29 arranged on sleeve 28 may, together with said sleeve, be placed on basket 19 in a disconnected condition with regard to the rotating pants of the two-for-one spindle.
- the mounting as well as the threading may be effected outside the machine.
- the said thread is passed from the top through thread guiding pipe 23 in axial direction through thread guiding pipe 15 which protrudes from the lower end of thread guiding pipe 15.
- the parts illustrated in FIG. 2 may, as a closed unit, be placed upon hollow shank 8 while the thread guiding pipe 15 is inserted into hollow shank 8 and journalled in bearings 11.
- the free thread end protruding from the thread guiding pipe 15 will be located in the central plane of the thread storage disc 9.
- the thread may then radially from the outside be passed through one of the yarn bushings 35 into the thread ⁇ storage disc 10 and, more specifically, will be passed upwardly through the overow dish.
- the threading and preparation of the twisting operation are considerably facilitated while it is advantageous, in this connection, that the said preparing operations can be carried out outside the twisting machine.
- the arrangement according to FIG. 3 is such that the bobbin carrier 17 is detachably mounted only on the free end of a tube 34.
- Tube 34 extends partially supported on the inner wall of thread guiding pipe 15, with play through thread guiding pipe 15, and has its inner wall surface covered with synthetic material 36 as, for instance polyethylene, in order to improve the free passage of the yarn inasmuch as through said synthetic material the yarn will be subjected on the inner wall surface to very minor friction.
- the bobbin carrier 17 can be axially lifted olf and it is merely necessary to pull tube 34 out of the thread guiding pipe 15. Thread guiding pipe 15 will thus, with this embodiment, remain at its place and will not be disengaged.
- a two-for-one spindle which includes: a rotatable hollow shank having an upper end portion and a lower end portion, a thread storage disc fitted to said hollow shank between said upper end portion and said lower end portion, a bobbin carrier adapted to be held at a standstill with regard to said hollow shank, and bearing means arranged at the upper end portion of said hollow shank and supporting said bobbin carrier, said bobbin carrier extending downwardly into an area near said thread storage disc and surrounding said hollow shank with radial play.
- a two-for-one spindle which includes: a rotatable hollow shank having an upper end portion and a lower end portion, a thread storage disc fitted to said hollow shank between said upper end portion and said lower end portion, a thread guiding pipe arranged within said hollow shank, antifriction bearing means arranged in the upper end portion of said hollow shank and supporting said thread guiding pipe, said thread guiding pipe on one hand extending downwardly to approximately the plane of said thread storage disc and on the other hand extending upwardly beyond said anti-friction bearing means, a bobbin carrier adap-ted to be held at a standstill with regard to said hollow shank, and supporting means connected t-o that end of said thread guiding pipe which extends upwardly beyond said antifriction bearing means and supporting said bobbin carrier.
- a spindle according to claim 2 in which said supporting means is detachably connected to that end of said thread guiding pipe which protrudes upwardly from said hollow shank.
- a two-for-one spindle which includes: a rotatable hollow shank having an upper end portion and a lower end portion, a thread storage disc tted to said hollow shank between said upper end portion and ysaid lower end portion, a thread guiding pipe arranged in said hollow shank, antifriction bearing means arranged in the upper end portion of said Ihollow shank and supporting said thread guiding pipe, supporting means connected to that portion of said thread guiding pipe which is adjacent said antifriction bearing means, conduit means supported by said supporting means and extending into ⁇ said thread guiding pipe while extending approximately to the plane of said disc, said conduit means being insertable into said thread guiding pipe from the top end thereof, and a bobbin carrier supported by said supporting means and extending downwardly therefrom while surrounding said hollow shank.
- a spindle according to claim 4 in which said thread guiding pipe is removable from said hollow shank and is rotatable relative thereto.
- a two-for-'one spindle which includes: a rotatable hollow shank having an upper end lportion and a lower end portion, a thread storage disc tted to said hollow shank between said upper end portion and said lower end portion, a thread guiding pipe arranged within said hollow shank and having an upper end portion adjacent the upper end portion of said hollow shank and having a lower end portion near said thread storage disc, axial supporting bearing means arranged within said hollow shank near said disc and supporting said lower end portion of said thread guiding pipe, radial bearing means arranged within the upper end portion of said hollow shank and supporting the upper end portion of said thread guiding pipe, a bobbin carrier surrounding said hollowl shank with radial play, and supporting means connected to the upper end portion of said thread guiding pipe and supporting said bobbin carrier.
- a two-for-one spindle which includes: a rotatable hollow shank lhaving an upper end portion and a lower end portion, a thread storage disc tted to said hollow shank between said upper end portion and said lower end portion, a thread guiding pipe arranged within said hollow shank and having an upper end portion protruding upwardly from said upper end portion of said hollow shank, antifriction bearing means arranged in the upper end. portion of said hollow shank and supporting the upper end Iportion of said thread guiding pipe, supporting means connected to said upper end portion ⁇ of said. thread guiding pipe, and a bobbin carrier detachably supported by said supporting means and including a basket for receiving and supporting a bobbin.
- a two-for-one spindle which includes: a rotatable hollow shank having an upper end portion and a lower end portion, a thread storage disc litted to said hollow shank between said upper end portion and said lower end portion, a thread guiding pipe arranged within. said hollow shank and having an urpper end portion adjacent the upper end portion of said hollow shank and having a lower end portion adjacent said disc, sleeve means connected to the upper end portion of said thread guiding pipe and provided with an annular shoulder, bobbin carrier means resting on said shoulder and adapted to receive and support a bobbin, and clamping means extending around said sleeve means and detachably securing said bobbin carrier means to said sleeve means.
- a spindle according to claim 8 which includes thread brake means arranged within said sleeve means.
- a bobbin carrier basket for use in connection with a two-for-one twisting spindle, which comprises: a rst annular member, a plurality of leg means supported by said annular member, a plurality of leg means supported by said annular member, each of said leg means comprising a rst resilient arm having one end connectedto said annular member and extending in the direction of the central axis of said annular member, each of said ileg means also comprising a radial arm having one end portion connected to said first arm, each of said leg means further comprising an additional arm having one end connected to the other end portion of the respective adjacent radial arm and forming with said radial arm and said rst arm a U-slhaped leg, and a second annular member substantially coaxial with said rst annular mem. ber but having a considerably greater diameter t'han said tirst annular member, the free end of said additional arms being connected to said second annular member.
- a bobbin carrier basket according to claim 10 in which said rst arms flare in the direction away from said rst annular member.
- a bobbin carrier basket according to claim 10 in which said rst arms are arched outwardly.
