Description
Dec. 27, 1966 E. AMMIRATI 3,
EMERGENCY BUTTON Filed Dec. 16, 1964 INVENTOR.
ELVIRA AMMIRATI Qua United States Patent The object of the present invention is to provide a means of replacing a button other than with the conventional thread and needle method.
FIGURE 1 is an elevational view of an emergency button at approximate full size.
FIGURE 2 is an elevational view at a magnified size to clarify FIGURE 1.
FIGURE 3 is a sectional view through a button showing it fastened with an emergency button thread holder.
FIGURE 4 is an isometric View showing an emergency button and an emergency button holder, which, combined, is my invention.
In FIGURE 2 (magnified elevational view of FIGURE 1) it can be seen that there is a button 1 and secured to it is a threading wire 2 which may be of metal or other material that can pierce fabrics, be bent, wound and will hold the position into which it has been bent or wound.
The button shown in FIGURE 1 is used as a needle and thread would be used except that the threading wire 2 which functions as a needle and thread, is pushed through the fabric 4 and then through the emergency button holder 3 which may be of metal or any material that will produce the function it is used for. The threading wire 2 is then wound around the emergency button holder 3 several times to secure the threading Wire 2 in place as shown in FIGURE 3. The threading wire 2 end may also be pushed through the aperture of button holder 3 just enough to be able to crimp the threading wire 2 to the button holder 3 and then rolled on the button holder 3 until it has been secured snugly.
I claim:
A fastening device comprising an enlarged portion of button-like configuration having a fabric piercing flexible portion of needle and thread-like qualities secured thereto and a portion of spool-like configuration having an enlarged slot therein dimensioned to receive the free end of the fabric piercing portion after it has been passed through an associated fabric and adapted to be rotated about its longitudinal axis to wind the fabric piercing portion thereabout to snugly secure the fastener to said fabric.
