PORTABLE BATH-HOUSE.

$PECIPICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 327,284, dated September 29, 1885.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that 1, CHARLES L. LINNEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Danville, in the county of Boyle and State of Kentucky, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Portable Bath Houses, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.

This invention relates to certain improvements in portable knockdown bath -houses; and it has for its object to provide means for a simple, cheap, and durable device, one that will be neat and easily kept clean, and occupying but a small space when erected. These objects I accomplish by the means illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which-- Figure 1 represents a longitudinal vertical sectional view of my device erected, havinga portion broken away, and Fig. 2 represents a transverse sectional view looking toward the top.

The letter A indicates a quadrangular frame, provided with casters B, and supporting the base 0 of the bath-house. This base is beveled toward the center, where is sunk a trap, pipe, or drain D, which leads to the outside. The base also has side walls, E, to prevent overflow.

The letters F indicate sockets secured to the base, in which is adapted to be fitted the supports or posts G, which lit in corresponding sockets, H, secured to the under side of the top I, and to the top also are secured sockets J, in which are seated short posts K, having double sockets on their upper ends, in which is placed a cross-tie, L.

To one side of the base is secured a socket, M, and to the under side of the top a corresponding socket, M, in and between which is pivoted the door N.

Around the supports or posts G and over the door extends the sheeting P, secured thereto by buttons to facilitate its removal.

At opposite sides of the top are extension-arms, It, connected at their outer ends by the rod S, having the elbows T, which fit over the ends of the extension-rods and are secured by pins. The extension-arms are adapted to slide in the recesses U in the top, and are provided with enlargements at their rear ends to prevent being pulled entirely out.

An outside sheeting, P, extends around the bath-house, and in front is supplied with pin-hooks, by which means it is secured to the extension, forming a dressing-room outside of the bath-house proper. This sheet is secured to the frames by buttons. The top is also supplied with a covering fastened with buttons extending over the cross-tie L, and on one side is provided with a door, B, through which the reservoir V can be reached to be filled, said reservoir being provided with a sprinkler, XV, having a valve covering the feed-pipe, and the valve being operated by a rod attached to a lever, X, having a fulcrum on top of the reservoir, and to the outer end is attached a string extending into the chamber below, where the valve can be operated at pleasure.

The operation of my device is as follows: After erecting the bath-house and supplying the reservoir with water, (which can be done either by hand, siphon, or pump,) the operator on the inside lifts the valve from its seat, allowing the water to pass through the feedpipe into the sprinkler, forming a showerbath, and, as will be seen from the drawings, if the spray reaches the inside sheeting it will drip to the base and flow to the trap, where it will be conveyed to a suitable vessel on the outside to catch the waste, and though the inside sheeting may be dripping wet, the outside sheeting will hide such, and present always a neat appearance.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, 1s-

1. A portable knockdown bath-house provided with double walls of removable sheeting, the sheeting of the inner wall covering a door therein, substantially as and for the purpose specified.

2. A portable knockdown bath-house having a base beveled toward a center, where is a waste-pipe, and having casters and sockets, a top with sockets, posts resting in said sock- In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
