Description

(No Model.)
B. BLAESIUS.
ADJUSTABLE PLAQUE STAND. No; 326,387. Patented Sept. 15, 1885.
WITNESSES UNITED STATES PATENT @rrrcn.
EMILE BLAESIUS, OF NEYV YORK, N. Y.
ADJUSTABE PLAQUE-STAN o.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 326,387, dated September 15,1885.
Application filed J; nutry 28, 1885. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EMILE BLAESIUS, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Adj nstablePlaquc- Stand, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
My invention consists of a novel plaque stand or support for pictures, made adjustable to hold the picture at the proper angle orpitch to cause it to show to the best advantage in any light, all as hereinifter fully described, and pointed out in the claim.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.
Figure 1 is a broken side elevation of my new and improved plaque or picture stand as it appears when holding a plaque. Fig. 2 is a front elevation of the stand; and Fig. 3 is a detailed sectional elevation showing a modification of the adjustingleg.
A represents my new plaque or picture stand, and B represents a plaque placed upon the stand. The stand A is composed of the curved legs aa,upper cross-piece, b, and adj ustable rear leg, 0. The frontlegs, an, are curved to form the hooks to a, for retaining the plaque or picture, as illustrated in Fig. 1, and they are preferably made in one piece with the crosspiece I).
At the back of the cross-piece bis formed the lug b, whichhas an opening, I)", made through it to receive the upper end of the rear leg, 0. In the form of stand shown in Figs. 1 and 2 the-opening b is a plain'round opening to receive the rounded portion 0 of the rear leg, 0, and in the lug b at the back is fitted the set-screw (l, by which the rear leg, 0, may be held at any desired position. In the form of stand shown in Fig. 3 the opening b is screw-threaded, and the upper end of the leg 0 is screw-threaded to match, so that by turning the leg 0 the pitch of the stand may be varied as desired. By loosening the nut d the stand may likewise be adjusted.
In this manner the stand may be adjusted to hold any picture, and to hold it at any angle to suit any light to make the picture show to the best advantage'and the stand is at the same time cheap and practical.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent EHILE BLAESIUS.
