l SOLDER HOLDER. No. 303,219. f Patented Aug. v5, 1884.
UUITHESSES: HUEUTDP:

SOLDER-HOLDER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 303,219, dated August 5, 1884.
Application filed December B, 1883. (No model.) i
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES R. EvERsoN, a. citizen of the United States, and e resident of Maeedon, rayne county, New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Solder-Holders, of which the following is a specification.
Myinvention is a. device constructed as fully described hereinafter, whereby to hold small pieces 0f solder which cannot be manipulated in connection with the soldering-iron when held directly in the hand, thereby avoiding the loss incurred by the non-use or remelting and reeasting of such pieces.
In the drawing is shown a perspective View of my improved solder-holder.
The implement consists of a shank, A, formed et one end into a handle, B, and having at the other end a clenip for securing the smell pieces X of solder which it is desired to hold.` The clamp eonsists of a finger, ci, projecting from the shank, and a screw, b, which passes through a seeondfinger, c, and between which and the finger ft the solder is firmly clamped. It will be seen that one of the iinl gers, c, proj ects beyondthe other.
This is important as the ends of the pieces are often rounded or beveled and could only beheld bctweeu jaws of equal length by introducing` a. considerable portion back of the grippingpoints, which portion Could not be used, while by the construction described almost the eutire piece can be utilized. The handle is tapered at its end and formed with e :dat edge substantially like a screw-driver. By this construction the workman can prcss down or open the seams before soldering.
The shank A, formed ut one end into :L titpered let edge and at the other having the projecting lingers a c, the iingercbeinglonger than the other and provided with zt clampingsorew, as set forth.
Intestiniony whereof lhiivesi goed my name to this specification in the presence of two sub scribing witnesses.
CHARLES R. EVERSON.
