SUSPENSION EXHlBlTlNG-FRAME.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 303,177, dated August 5, 1884.
Application filed May 11, 1883. (No model.)
To @ZZ whont it may con/cern:
Be it known that I, VILLLIM H. MILLER, of Providence, in the State of Rhode Island, have invented an Improvement in Suspension Exhibiting-Frames, of which the following is a specification.
The nature of my invention consists in the combination of a bar provided at one end with a swivel eye or hook, with a series of radial arms havingr hooks radiating` from a hub of rotary movement with relation to the eye or hook located at the end ol' the bar, whereby when suspended from a iixed support the series of hooks may be revolved about the axis of the bar, in order that ready access may be had to the various articles suspended at any point of the frame. It also consists in the combination of a tray with the bar and hook for holding articles not adapted for direct snspension, as hereinafter' fully set forth.
Figure l is an elevation of my improved suspensiowframe. Fig. 2 is a central vertical section. Fig. 3 is a plan View of the radial hooks separate from the bar. Fig. 4 is a plan view of the tray.
In the drawings, A. is an eye secured to a fixed support, B, and adapted to receive the the upper end of the bar D. The radial arms I, having hooks E E E, radiate from a hub, F, which is bored out to loosely iit the bar D, and when tightly secured to the bar is'provided with a set-screw, d, but when loosely held upon the bar the hub e is to be supported by means of a collar, G, firmly held upon'the bar by means oi' the set-screw g. Resting upon the radial arms I of the hooks E E E is placed the tray H, provided with a perforation at its center adapted to receive the bar D, and the tray may be made either tight or loose upon the bar D, as in the case of the hooks E E E.
Vhen the radial arms I, having hooks E E E, are secured firmly to the bar by means of the set-screW d, the suspended frame may be rotated in the swivel-joint c of the hook or eye C; and in case the hook or eye C is made in one piece With the bar D, then a loose joint will be provided at the hub F of the radial arms I, having hooks, and the same will be the case with the tray H. Articles adapted for being strung` upon the hooks E may be placed thereon in regular order. and other articles not adapted for the hooks may be placed in the tray H.
The object of my improvement is to provide convenient means for displaying various articles ofv merchandise in stores. or at the sidewalk, in order to attract customers. It is also adapted for use as a suspended frame for supporting the pots ofvhouse plants and for other useful purposes.
I claim as my inventionl. InI a suspension exhibiting frame, the
combination of a bar, D, provided with a swivel-hook, C, at one end, adapted to snspend the frame in a fixed position, with a vertieallyadjustable series oi' arms, I, radiating from a hub, F, inclosing the bar, with hooks E on the ends of the arms, as shown and described, and for the purpose set forth.
2; In a suspension exhibiting-frame, the combination oi' a bar, D, provided with a swivel-hook, C, at one end, adapted to susbe rotated on the bar, as shown and described, v
andior the purpose specified.
