CORSET. PAD.
Patented Feb. 5, 1884.

UNITED' STATES- ZENONE LEDOCHOWSKI,
- PATENT "OFFICE OF LA SALLE, ILLINGIS.
CORSET-PAD.
SPECIFICATION forming part ofl Letters Patent No. 292,829, dated February 5, 1884.
Application filed February 19, 1883.
(No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ZENONE LEDooHoWsKI, a citizen of the United States, residing at La Salle, in the county of La Salle and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Corset-Pads, and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters or figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specitication.
My invention relates to improvements in pads intended especially for use in connection with corsets; and it consists in the construction,
parts, a's will be hereinafter described and claimed.A
In the drawings, `Figure 1 is a perspective view of a corset provided With my improved pads. Fig. 2 is a transverse section of one of the pads on about line d2 c, Fig. l; and Fig. 3 is a detached sectional View, illustrating the valve, which will be presently described.
The inatable pads A B are made preferably 'of rubber, and are molded or otherwise formed in a single piece or bag having the lateral ange i formed entirely around them. The pads A B are formed to respectively serve the purposes of breast-pads and bustles, and
. are secured in proper place on the corset. I
secure these pads in place by stitching through the flangei, thereby avoiding stitching through.
the body ofthe pad, as will be readily understood. The pads are provided with a tube, f, extended out in suitable posit-ion to enable the operation of the valve hereinafter described. This llingtube f is formed at its inner end Within'the pad with a valve-seat, f', and has a socket, f2, formed in its outer end, as most pletely incase the valve-stem, whether the valve be onit-s seat or pushed down away therefrom, asin the act of inflating. By so incasing the valve-stem I avoid the danger of its coming in cont-act with theperson or clothing of the wearer, and being thereby lifted off its seat, permitting the air to escape.
In Fig. l I have shown the corset as supplied with a sleeveproteotor, D, having wings y or iiaps cl d'. combination, and arrangement of the several I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Pat- Having thusv described my invention, what ent, is-
1. In a corset, the combination of the iniiatable pad having tube f, constructed' with the inner valve-seat and the outer socket f tially as described and shown, molded in one piece, and provided with the lateral angei and the tube f, formed with valve-seat f at its inner end, and socketj, incasing the handhold n2 of the stem n atjits outerend, as and for the purposes specified.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in Witnesses:
J. A. MOANULTY, FANNY A. KEER.
