The object of the invention is to provide a slide fastener actuating device which is adapted to beused by women, as when slide fasteners on the backs ofdresses or the like are to be actuated or moved. 4 Another object of the invention is to provide a slide fastener actuatorwhich includes a chain having a hook member on an end thereof for engagement with the slide fastener, there being a body member such as a fanciful or ornamental pin on' the other end. of the chain whereby r Patentedoct. 13 .1959

The present invention is directed to an actuating means whereby the slide fastener 11 can be moved up and down. Another object of the invention is to provide a slide fastener actuatotwhichconsists of a chain, cable or the like, which isconnected to the movable slider of the slide fastener, there being a means on the other end of the chain or cable which can be readily gripped in the users The pin 14 may have a clamp 16 associated therewith, Figure 3, whereby the pin 14 can be readily fastened to a portion of the garment as shown in Figure 2. The chain 12 may be connected to the pin 14 through the medium of-an eyelet 17. For connecting the chain 12 to the slide fastener, a hook assembly 18 may be'provided, and the hook assembly 18 may include a pair of fingers 19 which are mounted on a pivot pin 20, the fingers 19 being mounted for movement towards and away from each other.. One of the fingers 19 is arranged hands so 'as to facilitate up or down movement of the slider.

Referring to Figure 5 of the drawings, therev is shown a still further modification wherein the numeral 27 ,indicates the slide fastener of the type which does not have a finger piece such as the finger piece 22 thereon. In

Referring to Figure 6 of the drawings, there is shown the present invention being used for actuating a slide fastener and it will be seen that with the present invention the slide fastener can be more easily'moved up or down even when the slide fastener is located on the rear of the garment.

Referring to Figures 7, 8 and 9 of the drawings, there is shown a further modification. In Figures 7, 8 and 9 the body member or pin is indicated generally by the numeral 29, and the pin 29 may be of the type that includes a plurality of holders 30 that receive ornamental objects 31 therein, and such objects may be retained in the holders 30 through the medium of clips or lugs 32. The central rear portion of the pin 29 is .provided with an indentation or recess 33, and a container or bag 34 is adapted to be seated in the recess 33. The bag 34 may be made of a suitable flexible transparent material such as a suitable plastic, and a portion of the container or bag 34 may be open as at 35. The container 34 is adapted to hold the chain 12 therein, and the container 34 is provided with a cutout 36 whereby a portion of the chain 12 can extend therethrough. Also, as shown in Figure 5 the hook members 19 may be connected directly to the slider 27 of the slide fastener. In Figure '6 there is illustrated the means of-using the present invention whereby the slide fastener located at the rear of the garment can be easily moved. In Figures '1 through 11 there isfshown a further modification. Thus, in these figures a small container 34 of-flexible material maybe used to hold the chain 12 and its associated parts, when the chain is not being used.
