CORNER-PLATE FOR FRAMES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 287,441, dated October 30, 1883.
Application filed March 12, 1883.
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HENRY M. JONES,'Of Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Corner-Plates for Frames, whereof the following is a description, reference being had to the accom: panying drawings, where Figure 1 is arearview of such corner-plate. Fig. 2 is a face view of' such corner-plate applied to a frame.
This improvement is vone of an already-existing class of devices which have for their obj ect the provision of a corner-plate or cornerbracket for binding together the parts of light frameS -Such, for instance, as are used for wind ow and door screens-whereby the frames are given suitable strength and incidental ornamentation, without making the frames unduly heavy and without calling for the presence of tenons and mortises.

and by locating the raised ribs 12 and c, as I 0 do, on the back thereof, I am enabled to make the plate itself very light and thin, thus avoiding cost, at the same time attaining all necessary strength by these ribs, which are located in a manner to brace and strengthen the plate. 3 5
