STAND FOR RECEPTACLE AND TOWEL DISPENSER Filed Oct. 18, 1952. 2 Sheets-Sheet 2 INVENTOR STAND FGR RECEPTACLE AND TOWEL DHSPENSER Donald R. Tillung, Deer-field, Wis.
Application October 18, 1952, Serial No. 315,516
1 Qlaim. (Cl. 248-146) My invention relates to a stand for receptacle and towel dispenser.
It is the main object of this invention to provide a rack or stand to hold and transport from cow to cow, all the materials needed to cleanse and massage a cows udder in a sanitary and healthful manner. The unit is placed as close to the cow as is convenient, then the operator removes a paper towel from the towel dispenser, immerses it in the germicide solution in the pail and proceeds to cleanse and massage the cows udder, after which the towel is disposed of in the refuse gutter. The use of a new towel for each cow not only controls, to a high degree, the spread of disease germs such as mas- 1titis, but also helps to keep the bacteria count of the milk A still further object of the invention is the provision of a rack or stand of this character which is extremely simple in construction, thoroughly reliable, compact, light weight, efiicient in its purpose, strong, durable and inexpensive to manufacture.
With these and other objects in view, the invention consists of the features of construction illustrated in the accompanying drawings which disclose the preferred embodiment of the invention, in which:
Fig. 1 is a front elevation of a preferred embodiment with a standard paper towel dispenser and standard medium size pail operatively fastened thereto and placed therein.
Fig. 2 is a right side view of the species shown in Fig. 1.
My device may be made in various shapes and forms but as illustrated is of skeleton construction formed from some tubular metal and some strip metal. As is illustrated the device is supported on three widely spaced rubber tipped legs 2 to form a triangular three point base.
The device is preferably constructed of tubular metal and strip metal in combination and is a combination leg at one end and handle at the other and is made in one piece with the handle coming forward over the towel dispenser 9 and pail 10 far enough so that when the pail is filled with liquid, the entire unit will carry level.
A U-shaped supporting member 13 has its bight portion horizontally disposed and has its leg portions 2 vertically disposed and downwardly extending. L-shaped member 1 has a vertically disposed upright portion and a horizontally disposed arm portion. The U-shaped member and the L-shaped member are rigidly connected by a straight member 3 extending from the center of the bight portion of the U-shaped member to a point on the upright portion of the L-shaped member. The horizontal arm portion of the L-shaped member extends over the straight base member 3 and over the dispenser and pail and lies in the plane including straight member 3 and the upright portion of the L-shaped member. The horizontal arm terminates in a handle portion which is disposed above the pail and in substantial vertical alignment with the center of gravity of the entire apparatus when the pail is full. center of the pail and the center of the bight portion of the U-shaped member. The entire apparatus may be easily and conveniently lifted and carried from place to place.
The two vertical hoop supports 4 which are formed of preferably strip metal are fastened to supporting member 13 in a non-detachable manner.
The pail hoop 5 which holds the pail 10, is preferably constructed from strip metal that is shaped to support the pail 10 and is fastened to the upper ends of the aforesaid hoop supports 4 so it may be detached. The hoop and thus the pail are centered over the center of the bight portion of the U-shaped member.
The two brackets 6 are formed preferably from strip metal which are indented at their centers to form a spacer between the towel dispenser 9 and the upright rod 1. The dispenser is disposed above and to the side of the pail. The dispenser is thus conveniently located for the cleansing operation and so as not to obstruct while inserting, removing or filling the pail.
My invention may be embodied in other specific forms without departing from the spirit or essential characteristics thereof. The present embodiment, as above set forth, is therefore to be considered in all respects as illustrative and not restrictive, the scope of my invention being indicated by the appended claim and all changes which come within the meaning and range of equivalency of the claim are therefore intended to be embraced there- What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is: A farm apparatus to aid in the sanitary and healthy cleansing of cows udders prior to milking, said apparatus consisting of: a U-shaped tubular member having a horizontally disposed bight portion and a pair of downwardly extending vertically disposed leg portions; an L- shaped tubular member having a vertically disposed upright portion and a horizontally disposed arm portion; a horizontally disposed straight tubular member rigidly connecting the center of said bight portion and a point on said upright portion; means mounted on said bight portion for supporting above the center of said bight portion a pail filled with a disinfectant solution; means mounted on said upright portion for supporting a paper towel dispenser above and to the side of said pail; said arm portion extending over said straight tubular memher, said dispenser and said pail and lying in the plane including said upright portion and said straight tubular member; said arm portion terminating in a handle portion disposed above said pail, in substantial vertical alignment with the center of gravity of said apparatus when said pail is filled, for facilitating convenient lifting and carrying of said apparatus, every part of said apparatus disposed entirely to the same side of said upright portion.
