ing is a full, clear, and exact description of the` invention, which will enable others skilled in 4the art to whichit appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification, and in which- Figure l represents the shield of a scarf provided with my improvement. My invention has relation to mens neckwear, comprising scarfs, neckties, and band# bows, of the various styles known to the trade, and it consists in providing the scarf or necktie with a peculiarly-constructed hook, which may either have one or two prongs, and

Vwhich is adapted to be inserted under the lower rim of a standing collar, for the purpose of preventing the scarf or necktie from working up over the collar, as is apt to happen where scarfs or neckties are worn with standing collars, unless the lower end of thescarf the middle part of the hook is bent to form an l arch, B, while the free ends ofthe wire are bent to form loops C C, for the permanent attachment of the hook to the shield. If desired, one end of the wire may be pointed, and bent to form the projecting pin D, as shown, whereby I dispense with the use of a separate pin, E, for fastening the free end of the scarf.

From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the drawings, the use of this device will readily be understood without rea necktie provided with a wire hook consist ing of 4one piece of wire inserted through the material, bent to form eyes fastened in the same, having one or more upwardly-pointing prongs, and an obliquelaterally-proj ecting pin for securing the free end of the necktie, as and for the purpose shown and set forth.

2. A wire hook for neckties, scarfs, or bandbows, consisting of one piece of wire bent to form eyes, adapted to be fastened in the material, one or more upwardly-projecting prongs, and an oblique downwardly pointing pin, adapted to fasten the free end of the necktie, as and for the purpose shown and set forth.
