SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent vNo. 273,388, dated March 6, 1883. Application filed September 27, 1582. (No model.)
Zo all whom 'it may concern:
Beit known that I, ABIJAH PRATT, of the city, count-y, and State of New York, have invented an Improvement in Hammocks, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to an improvement in hammock-s, those now used being only intendperson, andY .ing a hammock as illustrated in acoompany-- ing drawings.
Figure l. represents plan view, A A, the body portion, being in form of two elongated hexagon gures placed side by side, and constructed of ordinary netting or cloth. b b represents rope binding or edge provided with small rings C C; D, a rope fastened to outer edge at G G, running through center of body, and to which sameis attached; H, ropes attached at points F F, running to hanging-rings KK; E E, ordinary wooden stretchers. Thus, when hammock is suspended by rings K K the center support or rope, D, having same a single hammock of two layers, one to be used as a support, the other as a cover or protector. Having thus described Amy invention, I claim- The hammock herein described, being a combination ot' two, having a single body in shape of two elongated hexagon figures placed side by side, with rope running through and supporting the center thereof, provided with rings C, rope-edge b,'and stretohers EY E, for uses and purposes set forth.
