'DEVICEFOR-EXPRESSING STEAR IC ACID, 84o.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 260,542, dated July 4, 1882. 77 Application filed June 2,1882. (No mead)" To all whom it may concern: 7
Be it known that I, GEORGE J. DANNECKER, of Olncinnati, Hamilton county, Ohio, haveinvented a new and useful Improvement in Devices for Expressing Stearic Acid and other Fatty Oils, of which the following is a specification.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view 'of one of my strainingbags in the open condition, my shoe or runner Fig. 2 shows such a bag charged with grease or fatty acid and having its flap folded down. Fig. 3 shows a shoe detached. Fig. 4 shows another form of my shoe. Fig. 5 is a partiallysectionized elevation of a portion of a press with some of my bags in position. vertical section at :right angles to Fig. 5. Figs. 7 and 8 are respectively a side and end elevation of my supporting-bar.
A represents a receiving-trough. Resting in and supported by said trough or by a separate stand are bearing-bars B, of which each bar has one stationary and one adjustable clamphook, b I), which firmly hold the steam-heated trunk O. The bars B are notched, as at b, toreceive and hold tracks D, upon which rest and slide the steam-heated cheeks E, and my shod bags or receptacles F of horse-hair.
To the sole or bottom edge of eachbag is sewed or lashed my shoe or runner G, being.
Fig. 6 is a a trough-shaped casting with perforations g for the lashings.
By the above means I dispense entirely with the customary intermediate mats or straining cushions. I also prevent the wear of the bags themselves by interposing the metallic shoes or runners Gr between them and their supporting-tracks D.
H may represent a the pressing-piston.
The cheeks Econtain customary steam-passages, (shown by dotted lines,) which communicate by pipes e and any suitable flexible or jointed connections (not here shown) with-the steam service-pipe.
I claim as new and of my invention 1. The straining bag .or receptacle F, havtixed abutment and J in g the metallic trough-shaped shoe or runner G g lashed tofits bottom edges, as and for the purpose set forth.
2. In a device for expressing fatty oils, the
combination of receptacles F, having metallic shoes or runners G, tracks D, bearingbars B b b b, trunk O, and receiving-trough A, substantially asset forth.
Intestimony of which invention 1 hereunto set my hand.
GEO. J DANNEOKER.
