UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JAGOBE. MOFFITT, OF UNIONTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA.
COMBINED CEMENT-OASE AN D MIXING-TABLET FOR DENTISTS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 257,179, dated May 2, 1882.
Application filed March 21, 1882. (No model.)
To all whom tt may concern.-
Be it known that I, JACOB E. MOFFITT, of Uniontown,in the county of Fayette and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Gement and Liquid Case and Mixing-Tablet for Dentists; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of Thisinvention has for its object to obviate the inconvenience and loss of time resulting from the different articles, bottles, &c., comprised in a dentists cement-case becomiu g lost or mislaid, and also to lessen the expense of manufacture, simplify the construction, and
To these ends it consists in forming the entire case bottles, and mixin -tablet in one i u a piece, substantially as will be hereinafter more in the claim.
In the drawings, Figure l is a perspective view of my improved dentists cement-case and mixing-tablet; Fig. 2, a horizontal sectional View; Fig. 3, a vertical sectional view on the linear m, Fig. 2; and Fig. 4is a like view on the line y 3 Fig. 2.
Referring by letter to the drawings, A designates the body or case, and B the tablet formed at the bottom thereof, both formed of a single piece of glass, porcelain, or other suitable non-absorbent material. In the body A are stamped or molded any desired number of of dentists in mixing cement and fillings. The
whole being in a single piece, the disadvantage of the bottles falling and being broken,
thus occasioning the loss of their contents, is
obviated, and the device is always ready for use.
I am aware that it is not new to divide a glass vessel into several compartments, and such I do not wish to be understood as claiming as of my invention, which consists in forming the body and mixing-tablet of one piece, as herein specified.
Having thus described myinvention, Iclaim and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States- As a new article of manufacture, the hereindescribed cement and liquid case and mixingtablet, comprising the body or case A, provided with wells or receptacles G, and the tablet B, extending from the body at its lower part, all formed of a single piece of glass, porcelain, or other suitable material, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto affixed my signature in presence of two witnesses.
JAMES T. GoRLEY, GEORGE B. HUTCHINSON.
