PEN-HOLDER.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 255,961, dated April 4, 1882, Application filed December 15,1881. (No model.)

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, EBERHARD FABER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Port Richmond, in the county of Richmond and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Pen-Holders, otwhich` the following is a specification.

This invention relates to pen-holders of the kind 'known as anti-nervous pen-holders.

My invention consists in the combination, with the anti-nervous material, ot' a tubular support and a pin Ffo`r11ed Yon the handle to lit the interior of this support, a ferrule secured to the handle above said pin projecting over the inner ed ge of the anti-nervousmaterial, so as to conceal and protect the same. The tip ot' my pen-holder is constructed with a cap which covers the outer edge of the anti-nervous material, and with a tube which fits the interior ot' thc support otsaid anti-nervous material.

This invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 represents a front view. Fig. 2 is a sectional-side view. Fig. 3 is a horizontal section in the plane a: x, Fig. 1.

In the drawings, the letterA designates the anti-nervous material, such as a thin sheet or tube of india-rubber, and B is the tubular support for this anti-nervous material.,

C is the stad' or handle of my pen-holder, which is turned down to form a pin, a, which lits the interio'rlo't' the tubular support B. On the handle G, above the pin a, is secured a ferrule, b, which extends over-the inner edge of the anti-nervous'material,so as to conceal and protect said edge and to impart to the article a handsome nish.

The tip D of my pen holder forms a cap, c,

'which projects over the lower or outer edge of the anti-nervous material, so as to conceal the same, and in the interior of said tip is a tubular projection, d, which lits the interior ofthe support B. A rivet, e, serves to secure the tip D in the desired position and to connect the same firmly with the support B.

I do not claim as my invention the combination ol' an anti-nervous material with a penholder, such being well known.

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. The combination, substantially as hereinbefore described, of the anti-nervous material A, the internal tubular support, B, for the same, the staffor handle U, having a projecting part extending over and surrounding the up# per end of the anti nervous material to conceal and protect the edge thereof, and a ange on the tip D surrounding the lower edge ot' the anti-nervous material, as set forth.

2. The combination, substantially as hereinbetore described, of the anti-nervous material, thetubular support, the handle, the pin formed on said handle and ttting the interior of the tubular support, the ferrule secured to the handle and projecting over the inner edge of the anti-nervous material and thc tip.

3. The combination, substantially as hereinbe'ore described, ot` the anti-nervous material, the tubular support, the handle connected to the tubular support, the tip D, and the cap c, formed ou said tip and constructed to conceal and protect the outer edge of the yanti nervous material.
