PLOW-HANDLE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 252,722, dated January 24, 1882.

Application filed December 10, 1881. (ModeL) To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, WM. P. BROWN, a citizen of the United States, resident at Zanesville, in the county of ,Muskingum and State of Ohio, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Plow-Handles; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being bad to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.

Figure 1 of the drawings is are presentation ot' a perspective of my plow-handle brace. Fig. 2 is a side view, and Fig. 3 is a view showing the brace attached to a plow.

This invention has relation to the bracts for the handles of plows, cultivators, seeders, and

other im pltments needing such supports; and it consists in the construction andnove'l arrangenn nt in the upper end of the brace of a curved slot having a shouldered bend in its intermediate portion for engagement with the bolt which connects the handle thereto, as hereinafter set forth.

The handle is connected to the brace by means of a bolt, P, which passes through the curved slot and is adjustable therein. The bolts 0 and P, whereby the brace is connected to the beam and handle, are provided with nuts and washers, so that they can be easily loosened and tightened.

When the nuts are loosened alittle the handle can be, readily adjusted to theheight required; or it can be lowered alongside the beam, so that it will take up but little room, comparatively, in storage or transportation.

Having described this invention, what- I claim, and desire tosecureby Letters Patent,

1. The combination, with the handle E, beam A, and bolts 0 and P, of the hainlle-brace B, having a curved slot in its upper end, formed 1 with an intermediate shouldered bend or bearing, substantially as specified.

2. The handle-brace B, having at its upper end the curved slot F, formed with an intermediate shouldered bend, G, a rear extension, L, and a forward and downward eXtension,N, substantially asspecitied.
