SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 302,472, dated July 22, 1884.
Application filed July l1, 1883. Renewed June 1S, 1F84.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, MERIDETH P. CURLEE,
' a citizen of the United States, residing at Perdue Hill, in the county of Monroe and State of Alabama, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Plows, of which the following is a specification, reference be ing had therein to the accompanying drawings.
This invention relates to certain improve- .ments in plows; and it has for its objects to provide an improved mold-board and cutter for the same, as more fully hereinafter specilied. These objects I attain bythe means illustrated in theaccompanying drawings, in which-e Figure l represents a side elevation of niy improved plow, and Fig. 2 a View partly in section and partly in elevation of the same.
The letter A indicates the plow-beams, and B the handles, to one of which is secured a pointed shoe of iron, (indicated by the letter C.) The iron has welded to it a plowshare, D, which at its rear is provided with a tongue, E, which interlocks in a recess at the lower end of the wooden mold-board F.
The letter G indicates a glass moldboard,`

which sets over the wooden 1nold-board, the two m0ld-boards being secured to their seats by means of the bolts H.
The letters H and I indicate braces, which are applied to the parts of the plow to impart rigidity to the same.
The letter K indicates a cutter, which is hinged in a recess in a section, L, secured to the plow-beam, and is braced to said beam by means of a rod, M, as indicated.
.The operation of my invention will be ap parent from the above without further description.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combinationmin a plow, of the curved wooden mold-board, having a facing,` of glass of similar configuration, and the metallic plowshare, the whole being;` secured together by suitable connections, substantially as speciiied.
