IMPROVEMENT IN REVERSIBLE PLOWS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 199,036, dated January 8, 1878; application filed October 20, 1877.
To all whom "it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES DANIEL, of Virginia, in the county of Bates and State of Missouri, have invented a new and Improved Reversible Plow, of which the following is a specification Referring to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, Figure 1 is a side elevation of my improved plow, and Fig.
2 is an end elevation.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The invention will first be described in connection with the drawing, and then pointed out in the claim.
In the drawings, A is a rigid frame, which is supported upon suitable wheels. In this frame a shaft or beam, B, is journaled, and is with any one of three holes in a curved bar, 0, attached to the frame. When the pin 1) is in one of the holes near the end of the curved bar, the right-hand plow is placed in position for work. When the pin is in the hole at the other end of the bar, the left-hand plow is in position for work; and when the pin is in the central hole, the plows are both in a horizontal plane, and may be moved from one field to another.
I am aware it is not new to reverse a hillside plow by means of a lever connected with the shaft to which the shares are attached, nor to employa screw-pinion for holding a reversible plow in either of the two positions it may occupy in practical use, and I do not therefore claim such combination.
Having thus described my invention, 1 claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent-' In combination with the shares 0 G and shaft B, the shifting-lever D, provided with pin 1), and the curved bar 0, having holes to receive said pin, all as shown and described.
