This invention relates to improvements in soap trays or receptacles.
An object of the invention is to provide improved forms of soap trays or receptacles formed with fluted base sections and integrally formed fluted shield or back sections, together with drain receptacles formed at the ends of said base sections, and saidvflutes being angled so that water on a cake of soap when placed in any one of said receptacles will drain toward'the end water receiving receptacles. i
`Another object of the invention is to provide an improved integrally formed soap tray or receptacle including base and shield or back sections being formed to provide inclined flutes for directing water from a cake of soap to the ends of the tray or receptacle into water collecting compartments or receptacles formed at the opposite ends of said soap tray or receptacle.
A further object of the invention is to provide an improved molded or cast integrally formed soap tray or receptacle which will be highly efIicient in use, and relatively inexpensive to manufacture and produce.
Other objects will appear vas the description proceeds.
In the accompanying drawings which form a part of this application,
Figure 1 is a plan view of one form of improved soap tray in which the utes on the back or shield are angled forwardly from the top to the bottom and are connected with the flutes on the bottom of the tray which are sloped from the front to the rear thereof, while the troughs between the utes on said bottom slope from the back to the front to direct drainage water to the oppositely disposed water collecting receptacles in the opposite ends of the tray;
Figure 2 is a front elevation of the tray being shown partly broken away and in section;
Figure 3 is a sectional view taken on the line 3-3 of Figure 1;
Figure 4 is a plan view of a slightly modified form of tray having utes on the shield sloping forwardly from top to bottom and spaced rearwardly sloping flutes on the base separated from the flutes on the shield to form a transverse trough extending transversely of said bottom Vat the back thereof, and the troughs between the flutes on said bottom being sloped rearwardly;
Figure 5 is a front elevation of the tray shown in Figure 4, the same being partly broken away and shown in section;
Figure 6 is a sectional View taken on the line 1 Claim. (Cl. l5-28) Figure 7 is a second modified form of soap tray having spaced flutes on the shield merging with forwardly sloping flutes on the back portion of the bottom of the tray, and short rearwardly sloping utes on the forward portion of the bottom of the tray forming a transversely extending channel between the said flutes to direct drainage water to the collecting receptacles formed in the opposite ends of the soap tray; 1 'l Figure 8 is a sectional View taken on the line 8-'8 of Figure 7, and
Figure 9 is a top plan view of the soap tray shown in Figures 7 and 8.
Like characters of reference are used throughout the following specification and the accompanying drawings to designate corresponding parts.
In carrying out the invention, there is provided several modifications of the improved soap tray, all of which are integrally formed by molding or casting from any desired material, and all of which are provided with bottom sections generally denoted by the reference numeral I and interconnected backs or shields generally denoted by the reference numeral 2. Also, each modification is provided with the integrally formed oppositely disposed water drainage receptacles 3 and 4 formed in the opposite ends of the bottom I.
Figures 1, 2 and 3 illustrate one form of soap tray having spaced flutes 5 extending forwardly from their tops to their bottoms and merging with the spaced flutes 6 which are formed in the bottom I and are inclined rearwardly from front to back. while the troughs I formed between the iiutes 6 are sloped forwardly to merge with the transverse water directing passage 8 at the front of said bottom section I, which directs the drainage water from a wet cake of soap when placed on the tray towards the opposite ends of the tray and into said water drainage collecting receptacles 3 and 4.
In Figures 4, 5 and 6, a slightly modified form of tray is illustrated, and is formed with spaced utes 9 extending forwardly from their tops to their bottoms, and spaced utes it on the bottom of the tray I which slope rearwardly to form the transverse water directing passage I I at the rear of the bottom I between the flutes 9 and I0, while the troughs I2 between flutes I0 direct the drainage water to said passage II and into the water drainage collecting receptacles 3 and 4 at the opposite ends of said tray.
In Figures 7, 8 and 9 there is shown another slightly modified form of soap tray which is formed with a series of spaced perpendicular flutes I3 on the shield or back 2 which merge with the short forwardly sloping flutes I4 formed on the tray bottom I. A series of rearwardly sloping short flutes I5 are formed on the front portion of the tray bottom I, and provide a centrally disposed transversely extending water drainage passage I6 for directing the drainage water to the `end water collecting receptacles 3 and 4. The,I troughs I'I between the flutes I4 and I5 are sub- 'stantiallylevel Y Apertures i*I8 Ywill be 'formed through the v`back or shield 2 of each form of soap tray to receive a screw or other fastening device for supporting and Y` attaching the soap tray upon a vertical surface.
