SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 247,000, dated September 13, 1881.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JABEZ BATH, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved (Jalenda-r, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

The object of my invention is to furnish a changeable and perpetual calendar of durable construction and in convenient form.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a calendar constructed in accordance with this invention. Fig.2 is a vertical section of the same on line :0 w of Fig. 1; and Fig. 3 is a perspective View of one. of the calendar-blocks.

Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.

The supporting stand or frame may be of any suitable construction. As shown, it consists of a base, A, and vertical portion B, provided with side strips, a, that form a recess for receivingthe calendar-blocks and cards.

In the top of the frame is an oblong recess,

' covered on the front by a slotted slide, I), and

in this recess there are cubical blocks 0, that are numbered on their faces. These are the yearblocks, and are to be arranged to show the yearnumber through the slotin the slide b. Next below the space t'orthe year-blocks is a space that receives the monthly cards (I. A slide, 6, in

to cover the blocksf at their upper and lower ends. The blocksf are oblong and four-sided, and are numbered. on theirfaces toindicatcthe days ofthe month, so that when placed in proper order they form a monthly calendar. Each blockf has the same numbers on two or more of its sides, but differently placed to suit the dilferent positions of the block from mouth to month. Each faceis also numberedatthebottom, so that a table of directions can be used to indicate the order in which they are to be placed. ,These' numbers are covered by the slide it.

On the slide g are the names of the days of the week, which completes the calendar. slide It is retained in place by the slide 0, before mentioned.

The numbers on thecalendar-blocks of may be printed, stamped, or otherwise affixed, and the month-cards d may be made of metal,cardboard, or any other suitable material. I do not limit myself in that respect. Neither do I contine myself to the described arrangement of slides for allowing insertion and removal of the calendar-blocks.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The combination of the blocksficards d,and frame B, providedwith slides e g h, substantially as shown and described, to form achangeable calendar.
