5 Claims. (01. 280-36) My present invention relates to an improved folding doll carriage or buggy and while the carriage of my invention is especially designed for use as a toy, it may well be strengthened and enlarged for use as a baby carriage or buggy.

The buggy of my invention is light in weight lending itself easily to use by a child in riding dolls or other toys, and is so constructed that it may be folded compactly for storage requiring a minimum of space.

In th accompanying drawings I have illustrated one complete example of the physical em bodiment of my invention according to the best mode I have thus far devised, but it will be understood that various changes and alterations may be made in the exemplified structure within the scop of the appended claims.

Referring now to th drawings, wherein I have illustrated the present preferred form of my invention, I employ a pair of

spring frame members

2 and 4 bowed downwardly and having their front ends connected by a footboard 6. A small safety wheel 8 is journalled in support I0, depending from the footboard 6. The footboard 6 extends downwardly and rearwardly from the front ends of the

Abov the frame members I use a seat 20, having a handle H and supported forwardly by strap 22, having a downward bend 24 and secured to the under side of the footboard 6 near the front edge of the board. Rearwardly a strap 26 is pivotally secured at 28 to the seat and then curves at 30 upwardly to the handle 32.

Straps

34 and 36 extend from the handle and are pivotally attached to the

frame members

2 and 4 at 38 and 40. The footboard 6 is provided in its rear edg portion with a recess 1 for the passage of the strap 22.

An S-support 42 is secured to the strap 25 at 44 and the swivel wheel support 46 is pivotally secured at 48 and carries th axle 50 for rear wheel 52.

To fold the carriage for storage, the handle 32 is swung up, pivoting the

straps

34 and 36 and the strap 26 about their respective pivots and the carriage is then swung forwardly about the axles IE to rest the carriage on wheel 8.

The carriage or buggy above described will prove a source of pleasure and entertainment and being light in weight, will be easily handled. The frame construction of metal straps will b durable and require little attention and upkeep.

Having thus fully described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

A carriage comprising a pair of parallel spaced downwardly bowed strap frame members connected at their forward ends by a foot board and a wheel journaled under said connection, aligned wheels depending from the bow in the frame members, a handle, a pair of supporting straps pivotally connected to the rear ends of the frame members a third supporting strap connected centrally of the handle in depending relation thereto, intermediately of the first said straps, a fourth strap connected to the foot board adjacent the forward edge thereof, a seat pivotally connected at its rear edge to the third strap and fixed at its front edge to the fourth strap and a rear swivel wheel on the third strap.

2. A folding carriage comprising bowed frame members connected at their forward ends, running wheels on the frame members rearwardly of the connection, a wheel on the connection normally above the contact plane of the running wheels, a rear handle, a seat carried by the handle and the said connection, and a rear swivel wheel normally in a contact plane with running wheels, the said handle foldable over the seat for storage on the running wheels and the forward wheel.

A folding carriage comprising bowed frame members forwardly connected, running wheels on the frame members, a wheel on the connection normally above the contact plane of the running wheels, a rear handle, a seat pivotally carried by the handle and the said connection, and a rear swivel wheel normally in a contact plane with running wheeels, the said handle foldable over the seat for storage on th running wheels and the forward wheel.

A folding carriage comprising bowed frame members including pivotally connected sections forwardly connected, running wheels on the frame members, a wheel on the connection normally above the contact plane of the running wheels, a rear handle. a seat carried by the handle and the said connection, and a rear swivel wheel normally in a contact plane with running wheels, the said handle foldabl over the seat REFERENCES CITED The following references are of record in the file of this patent:
