2 Claims.
This invention relates to a display fixture for a store window. Merchandise of many classes is displayed in a store window to best advantage by being rested upon a device or tray carried by an upright mounted on a base. Such fixtures are however often disadvantageous, in being costly, of undue weight, occupying too much space, producing display arrangements that are insufiicient- 1y aesthetic, and in many other ways well known to those versed in this art.
The principal object of the invention is to provide an improved display fixture which will remedy the aforesaid disadvantages, and be conveniently and economically manufacturable, saleable at low cost, conveniently and advantageously utilizable, strong, durable, and wherewith displays of merchandise may be produced with ease and maximum attractiveness.
Other objects and advantages will hereinafter appear.
In the accompanying drawings,
Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing the display fixture constituting the invention, as it appears when in operative state, when set up for receiving the merchandising articles for display.
Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the same display fixture, ilustrating its versatility for taking on a variety of forms for creating different types and styles of displays.
Fig. 3 is a top plan view, in an enlarged scale, of the display fixture illustrated in Figs. 1, 2.
Fig. 4 is an elevational view of the display fixture shown in Fig. 3.
Figs. 5 and 6 are a respectively, showing a The display fixture 1 comprises a up of links 3 of cylindrical form, that are held swivelly to each other by means of hinges 4. Each of the links 3 thereby constitutes a socket, into which many be wedgingly inserted for support a post 5 for carrying a device adapted to hold or thereupon rest an article of merchandise for appropriate display. As shown in Figs. 1, 2. the post may consist of an inverted yoke 6 having a bend 1 and a pair of legs 5a the terminal ends 51) of which are wedgingly insertible for support in a pair of sockets 3 of the fixture, and to the bend I is secured a tray 8 for thereupon placing the merchandise article. The chain 6 may be of any required length, for accommodating one or several of the yoked posts 5 carrying the trays 8, and the chain may be disposed in any needed convolution to act as a supporting base for the upright posts and elevated trays, as well as for laterally disposing said trays to best advantages for plan and elevational view,
detail of the invention.
chain 2 made displaying the goods and locations relatively to other surrounding objects.
As herein shown, the base-chain 2 is manuiactured by assemblage of a large plurality of only three different component members, viz., a metallic semi-cylindrical linke 9 having ears I0, ll, 12, Figs. 5, 6, a similar semi-cylindrical link [3 having ears Hi, l5, and hinge-pins 16, which parts, as illustrated in these figures, can be interjoined to produce the hinges 4 and link-sockets 3 creating the continuous chain 2 of any desired length.
Variations may be resorted to within the scope of the invention, and portions of the improvements may be used without others.
Having thus described my invention, I claim:
1. A merchandise display fixture having the combination of a chain consisting of links hinged to each other, each of said links embodying an upright socket adapted for thereto securing the lower end portion of a post for carrying a merchandise display device, and said chain bein capable of assuming a variety of convolutions so as to constitute a supporting base for one or a plurality of said posts.
2. A merchandise display fixture having the combination of a chain consisting of links hinged to each other, each of said links embodying an upright socket adapted for thereto securing the lower end portion of a post 'for carrying a merchandise display device, said chain being capable of assuming a variety of convolutions so as to constitute a supporting base for one or a plurality of said posts, each of said link-sockets consisting' of a pair of semi-cylindrical members having ears, the ears of one of said members registering with the ears of the other member, hinge-pins passing through said registering ears to swivelly join said members to each other, and said swivel joints interlinking said sockets with each other to constitue a chain.
