This invention relates to new and useful improvements in blouses.
More particularly, the invention proposes a new and improved blouse which is characterized by the fact that it is formed from a flat strip of cloth material for wrapping about the body at the blouse region and having cutout flap-like portions forming arm openings and shoulder portions. It is also c-ontemplatedto provide drawstrings mounted along the top and bottom edges of said flat strip for gathering the top andbottom portions of the blouse for adjusting the sizes of the neck and waist. i
The invention contemplates numerous modified forms and variations, each and all embody n the essential features thereof. In one form it is 12 Claims. (01. 2-105) proposed that the fiat strip be rectangularly shaped. In another form it is proposed that the fiat strip be arcuately shaped. In still another form it is proposed that sections be cutout from the strip beneath the armpits and that these open areas he closed with laces or tie strings. I The invention also contemplates constructions in which the blouse is open at the back, or open at the front, depending merely on design. A con:
structi-on is also suggested for increasing the 'neck opening at the front of the blouse. I
The dominating feature of the new and improved blouse resides in the fact that it may be I 7 go the invention illustrated in-Figs, 1 -3 inclusive,
opened and laid fiat so that it may be easily laundered and ironed. A great variety of trimmings and decorations may be employed in com'unction with the basic foundation pattern already suggested. I
Another object of the invention is the construction of a blouse as mentioned which is simple and durable and which may be manufactured and I sold at a reasonable cost. I on o o For further comprehension of the invention, and of the objects and advantages thereof, reference will be had to the following description and accompanying drawings, and to the appended claims in which the various novel features of the invention are more particularly set forth;

The blouse, in accordance with that form of top and bottom portions of the blouse for-fad? justing thefsizes of the neck and waist. The drawstrings l2 are engaged through hems 14 formed along the top and bottom edge portions of thestrip" I0. Short lines of stitches are engaged through the top and bottom center points of the fiat strip l0 and serve to hold" the drawstrings |2,fr-om coming out of the hem's Hi.
The fiat strip Ill isrectangularly shaped. Suitable trimmings andvdecorations may. be applied to the fiat strip portion for ornamentingf the blouse. The drawstrings l4 maybe of non-elastic material, or of elasticizedmaterial if it is desired that the resllienoy'serveto naturally gather the top and bottom portions of the blouse. I e e The blouse, as illustrated in Fig. 3, maybe con.- verted to the form. shown in Figs. 1 Q and -2 by merely gathering the top and bottom portionsof the flat strip l b ll t e draws l2 an pushing the edge portions of the flat strip I and tying the drawstrings into bows at the back of the blouse.
In Figs. 4 and 5 another embodiment of the invention has been disclosed. In this form of the invention the blouse has a flat strip I0 which is arcuately shaped and arranged with th larger dimension across the top.
In otherlres'pects I thigiorm 2 of. .the ,invention .is similar .to' that previously showniandflike refer:- ence numerals identify like parts in each of the several views.
