SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 243,260, dated June 21, 1881. Application filed July 27,1880. (No model.)

T 0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, NELsoN 0. Home, a citizen of the United States, residing at Yankton, in the county of Yankton and Territory of Dakota, have invented new and useful Improvements in Ironing-Tables, of which the following is a specification.

My improved table comprises an ordinary table-frame having a pivoted top capable of being turned one-quarter way around, so as to cover onlyone-half the frame; a pair of mangle-rolls journaled in the frame underneath the top, so as to be covered by it when said top is in its normal position and exposed when the said top is turned around at right angles to the frame; asliding shelf occupying aposition under the mangle, but capable of being pulled out longitudinally, so as to form a support or table on which to rest the clothes, and a frame of parallel round bars hinged to the end of the table next the aforesaid shelf, capable of being folded down or elevated, according as the table-top is closed or open.

In order that the invention may be fully understood, I will proceed to describe the same with reference to the accompanying drawings, in whichv Figure 1 is a perspective view of a table embodyingmyimprovements, the topbeingshown in its open position and partly broken away to show the pivot. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal vertical section of the device. in position for man gling clothes.

A is an ordinary table-frame, provided with a cross-bar, B, to which is pivoted the top 0 by means of pin, screw, or bolt 0. A stop, 0, limits the movement of the top.

D D are mangle-rolls, journaled in boxes d d, sliding in guides E, and pressed together by springs e e. The mangleis operated by crank H.

Pivoted at f to the legs are two arms, I*, through which pass round rods Gr, between which the clothes are passed to the manglerolls D D. r

A shelf, I, having handle a, and capable of being pulled in and out of the end of the table, is used as a support for the clothes to be passed to the mangle.

. Having thus described my invention, the following is what I claim as new therein and desire to secure byLetters Patent:

1. An ironing-table consisting of pivoted top 0, the frame A, mangle-rolls D D, and hinged frame F G, as set forth.

2. An ironing-table consisting of pivoted top 0, the table-frame A, shelf I, hinged frame F G, and rolls D D, as set forth.
