ranging the shirt'or otherarticle'ofwearing ap- I pare] when it i-spla'cedin position On the display form.
Another object is to provide a display form comprising a head" andneck' section and'incl'uding' a vertically adjustable" displayboard on which the shirt or'other wearinga'pparelisplaced, so that the collar of 'the'shirtt'elescopes over and snugly fits :th'e neckon thedisplay form when the boardis raised. I
A further object resides" in the provision" of a display form of the" character described, which is comparatively light in' weight, facilitating placing on show cases or "counters,'-'change of location and/ or removal to storage;
Still a further object-is" to design a display form in which the head support is arranged to eliminate any interference with or obstruction to the arranging of the shirt in display position, and subsequent shifting of the shirt support to proper position with relation to the neck of the display form.
A further object still is to design a striking and attractive display form which can be very economically manufactured and assembled, which is of pleasing appearance, and on which the apparel to be displayed can be very easily and quickly arranged and/or removed, and without wrinkling, soiling, or in any manner rearranging the shirt in its make-up condition, or the necessity of unbuttoning the collar thereof.
With the above and other objects in view, the present invention consists in the combination and arrangement of parts, hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing, and particularly pointed out in the appended Fig. 2 is a view similar to'Fig. Ll showing the display board in raised position;
Fig. 3 is a rear elevational view; and
Fig. t is a fragmentary view similar to Fig. "2 and'showing a shirt arranged for display on the display form.
Referring 'nowmore particularly to the drawing in which we have shown thepreferred'embodiment of our invention, the numeral Bindicates the base of the display stand, :this canbe formed of an desired material, caster stamped, and a vertically disposed support '6 is threaded into said base, to facilitate easy removal when desired. 7
The support '8 is formed with an angulariy disposed section lat a point interme'diate'its length, the upper offset'section 9 extending vertically, with the extreme end firmly anchored'in the 'head 3 ata point directly'below the hair-line on the head, said support being'an'ch'or'ed in any'desired manner so that the head is rigidly mounted thereon.
, A U-shaped bracket 10 is adiustably mounted on the lower sectionof'thesupporting member 6, the upper end being formed'with' Opposed, laterally projecting, angularl'y disposed ears II, and an inclined display board [2 is mounted thereon and is secured in position by means of screws l3.
Transversely disposed slits s are provided in the legs of the bracket It at a point spaced from the lower end thereof, and a transversely disposed bolt I4 is mounted in suitable openings as shown, a wing nut 15 being threaded on said bolt so that when the wing nut is tightened, the section of the bracket, from the lower end to the slit s' will tightly clam on the support 6 and firmly hold said bracket in set position.
The bracket and display board are adjustable as a unit on the supporting rod or member 6, and when it is desired. to place a shirt on the form, the wing nut I5 is loosened to permit the board to be lowered to position as indicated in Fig. l of the drawing, the shirt S is then placed on the board, with a necktie E arranged on the shirt; the collar opening is then placed in vertical alignment with the neck N of the head B, or the collar can be fitted over the neck, after which the bracket and board are raised to position as indicated in Figs. 2 and 4, the shirt collar telescoping over the neck of the form, until th collar is in proper position, after which the wing nut 18 tightened to fix the display firmly in position. and neckties, hats, or other articles of pers n adornment can be added as desired.
The entire form is light in weight so that its location' can be changed at will, it can be placed on counters, show cases, or other supporting structures, and the articles displayed can be very easily and quickly applied, removed and/or re placed.
From the foregoing description it will be obvious that we have perfected a very simple, practical, and economical display form, which can be economically manufactured and assembled, and which'is adaptable for the display of various articles of clothing without rearranging, unbuttoning or unfolding the garments.
What we claim is:
l. A display form of the character described comprising a base, an ofiset support mounted thereon, a display panel mounted on the support. a head and neck unit supported on the ofiset support, with the point of connection of the sup,- port to the head located substantially at the hai line at the back of the neck.
2. A display form for displaying men's wear, 7
comprising a vertically disposed support-having a lower body portion and an upper offset portion, a head and neck unit mounted on the ofiset por tion of the support and connected thereto at a point substantially at the hair line at the back of the neck, and a display panel adjustably mounted on said support at a point directly below the head unit.
3. A display form of the class described, comprising a base, a vertically disposed support mounted thereon and terminating in an ofiset upper section, a display head and neck section mounted on said ofiset section with the point of connection located substantially at the edge of the hair line at the back of the neck, a display panel adjustably mounted on said support below the offset section and adjustable vertically with relation to said head, and means for securing said panel in adjusted position. 7
4. A display form of the character described comprising an offset support, a formed head and neck member mounted thereon, a display panel member also mounted on said support below said head and neck member and on which the folded garment to be displayed is adapted to be placed,
with the collar opening in direct vertical alignment with the neck of the head and neck memher, at least one of said members being adjustable below the head and neck unit and on which the.
folded garment to be displayed is placed, said head and neck unit being adjustable with relation to the display panel to bring the collar of the garment into proper position on the neck of the head and neck unit without unbuttoning or otherwise rearranging said garment.
6. A display form of the class described, com- I prising a base, a vertically disposed offset support, a head and neck section mounted on the oflset end of the support and attached thereto at substantially the edge of the hairline at the back of the neck, and an inclinedpanel section mounted on said support below said head and neck section and on which the garment to be displayed is placed, one of said sections being vertically adjustable with relation to the other to bring the collar 'of the garment to proper position on the neck of said head and neck section.
'7. A display form of the character described, comprising a vertically disposed support having a lower body portion and an upper oifset portion, a formed head and neck unit mounted on the upper offset portion, a display panel member mounted on the lower portion of the support and adapted to receive the garment to be displayed, and means for vertically adjusting said display panel with relation to the head and neck unit to bring the collar of the garment into proper position on the neck of the form. f
