Description

(ModeL) P. WILHOFT.
Vaginal Syringe. No. 237,426. Patented Feb. 8,1881.
ATTORNEY N.PETER$. FHOTO-LI7NOGRAPNER. WASHINGTON. D. C.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRANZ WILHOFT, on NEW YORK, N. Y.
VAGINAL SYRINGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 237,426, dated February 8, 1881.
Application filed August 27, 1880. (Munich) To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANZ WILHoFr, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Vaginal Syringes, of which the following is a specification.
The object of this invention is to provide a vaginal syringe which shall combine the properties of simplicity and economy of construction with convenience and efficiency in use.
The invention consists in a valveless vaginal syringecomposed of a bulb and an enlarged blunt conical nozzle or obturator with a contracted neck between them, the whole being made of soft rubber in one piece, substantially as hereinafter described and shown.
In the accompanying drawings, which illustrate my invention, Figure 1 represents a side view of my improved vaginal syringe, and Fig. 2 a vertical longitudinal section of the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
A in the drawings represents a bulb of suitable size, which is made in one piece with an enlarged conical nozzle, B, which, like the bulb,
is made of rubber or other suitable elastic material. The nozzle omobturator B is provided with a thicker base, I), which extends at right angles, or nearly so, from the contracted neck a of the bulb A, the increased thickness imparting a greater strength to the same to facilitate the application of the syringe. The discharge-orifice of the nozzle is made equal may be readily expelled through the nozzle and drawn back through the same into the bulb. This is an essential feature of my invention. The bulb is filled in the usual manner in syringes, and the liquid ejected through the nozzle by the compression of the bulb. The' ber in one piece, substantially as described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name in presence of two witnesses this 25th day of August, 1880.
F. WILlElOFT.
